we arrived very early in the morning and they had our room ready for us and let us use the room prior to the arranged check in time. ... Only negative was a very small shower stall. ... They expected cash vs. credit card at check out, but were willing to take a credit card. They didn't seem very happy with payment by the card. ... Great, quiet location. Rooftop terrace, great place to drink coffee/breakfast. ... Good value, great location, clean and friendly hotel.

Mark and the entire staff at Ca'San Trovaso were wonderful, helpful, and courteous! We just returned last week and have already recommended this place to friends. Ca'San Trovaso made our first trip to Venice unforgettable! Thank you! ... The breakfast could have been a little more substantial--They brought our choice of coffee or tea, and croissants and rolls. Maybe a little piece of fruit, or a small yogurt or something would have been nice. Other than that, it was great! ... I was so pleased at how concise and informative the World By website was--very thorough and complete. Keep up the good work--we'll continue to stay at and recommend to friends World By's accomodations because we will know we can trust your photos and descriptions to be accurate and clear. ... Beautiful, quiet, romantic--the perfect neighborhood. Ideal for a getaway to Venice!

The directions said to go over three bridges but we only went over one - but the main problem was that the directions given involved going via a route that was blocked off for building works - so we had to find another route ourselves! This was a little tricky in the dark but we had the phone no. so could have called the hotel if necessary. ... You could say that it's very close to Campo Santa Margherita, a nice square with quite a few pleasant bars/places to eat, that doesn't get as packed or expensive as the central areas. ... Comfortable, clean, within easy distance of all the sights and helpful staff. We didn't have a room with view but I imagine they are lovely because it's right next to canal.

We had a wonderful time at Ca San Trovaso. The area is charming, close to Zattere with good seafood restaurants and Nico's ice cream parlour. Also good restaurants at Calle Lunga de San Barnaba and Campo Santa Margherita. Only a few minutes to Accademia bridge for access to the Grand Canal. The traghetto at Sant' Angelo takes you over the canal if you can't face the steps after a long day. The room was clean and small but perfectly formed and we loved the canal view especially when we made it back just in time during Acqua Alta and watched everyone else get wet feet. Breakfast served in the room was perfect for us, but a whole pot of coffee (or tea/coffee making facilities in the room), not just one small cup per person would have been better. Our flight was late in the evening and they allowed us to leave our luggage with them all day, which was much appreciated. There is someone presnt at all times, so you don't have to worry about access late in the evening. Wonderful place - highly recommended.

We arrived mid-morning and had a very pleasant start, right off the bat. Got maps and directions, recommendations for restaurants from the front desk. And, the room was ready for us. ... Located in a pleasant back street of the city, away from the crowds. At the same time, a very short walk away from both water taxi stops - the Accademia, for the city sights; and Zattere, for a boat to the mainland, train station and airport. ... Quick and painless. ... I'd definitely recommend it to a friend.

Very Friendly & kind receptionist on arrival making you feel very welcome ... Lovely small B&B on a small canal away from the tourist track. Rooms very quiet clean & comfortable with canal view. Great area to stay in within easy access to all sites.

While the hotel is slightly off the beaten track, this adds to it's charm as it is away from areas that may become touristy, although not too far to reach these areas when needed. We had real sense of being part of local Venice. The hotel was clean, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Venice. Thank you!

we found the hotel despite construction works which forced us to make a detour. the description really was fine. ... I've been to Venice very often. Ca San Trovaso proved to be the most agreeable hotel in its price category - especially with regards to the location. ... nice hotel, perfect location, very quiet (not easy to find in venice), clean, situated in a typical surroundings. its not cheap, however, for venice the price is alright and worth the money.

The hotel management made special efforts to be helpful with restaurant and transportation advice.
You may pass on our comments to the hotel. ... We would recommend this hotel to our friends. Very clean and new.
... Clean, competatively priced and well located.

There was a sign at the front desk that they were temporarily unable to accept credit cards. This seems to be a common issue in Italy. ... We enjoyed our stay here. The location is great: near Campo San Margherita for young local activity, close to the Ponte'Accaedmia to go to San Marco, and yet tucked away on a quiet canal away from the noise. ... Great location, minimal fuss. Not luxury accommodations, but quiet, pleasant, and nice. The room was actually surprisingly large compared to what I've seen in Venice.

Very friendly - would definitely stay there again. ... No hairdryer in room - other than that exactly as described. Very friendly staff. ... Thoroughly recommended.

no ... no ... no ... Website pictures suggest that the rooms are situated on the canal side but not all rooms have this canal view. Ours was situated on the side of a small alley, so if you want a nice view, you better mention this beforehand. ... Friendly, clean, quiet, small and simple pension in the pleasant Dorsoduro area, where they serve breakfast into your room.

The staff was very helpful, and recommended some great restaurants to us that made our trip much more enjoyable. ... The hotel was beautiful. We were given a front room on the top floor overlooking the a canal- rather loud at times, but it definately captured the character of Venice. Overall, it was a wonderful experience- we would definately stay again.

The location of Ca San Trovaso is superb. The son, Alessandro, is especially courteous. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. ... Ca San Trovaso is in on a quiet, non-touresty canal, away from the hustle and bustle. It is only a short walk, however, to the vaporetto, which zips you into the main part of town. The hotel feels very clean. It is lovely to have breakfast, including cappucinos, served in your room each morning.

The instructions need to be more detailed. As visitors new to Venice we were not expecting the route to be through such narrow passageways. ... With in-room breakfast a larger table would have been useful. ... We were able to leave luggage at the hotel after check-out time, which was helpful. ... Good value basic accommodation. Comfortable spacious room, nicely decorated. Good shower room, excellent cleaning, clean towels daily, clean sheets twice a week.

Venice is very confusing, thats not the hotel's fault. Some better signposting from the canal would have been useful. The hotel is down a very narrow alleyway which is not marked on the maps of venice. ... The hotel was OK for a cheap place in Venice close to a boat stop and walkable distance to all main attractions. Venice is an expensive town for tourists!! The breakfast wasn't good though. The coffee was really bad and often cold. The breakfast itself was only croissants, which are filled with jam in Italy. Which is great if you like jam in your croissants but we don't.
We stayed in a room without a view which was fine. I wouldn't bother with the canal view room because it is next to a very minor canal, not worth the extra money for a view.

Sthe primary person we dealt with at check-in and in the evening was rather curt and impatient. However, I would still stay there again if I am in Venice primarily because of the locationm. ... A great location-away from the hustle and bussel of St. Mark's but still within easy walking distance of all the big attractions

Not easy to find. Breakfast only available in the rooms. Very small hotel with good security.

My only comment would be that breakfast was slightly disappointing. It was brought up on a tray wich was great but consisted of only one cup of coffee each, a croissant and a bread roll. Some variety would have been nice, ie some toast, orange juice and a jug of coffee so that you could have more than one cup. ... no ... For a bed and breakfast it was perfectly adaquate. The room was very spacious with a beautiful new en-suite shower room. I would have no hesitation in booking there again

We needed to leave by 7.30 on the day of departure and it was not possible to have an early breakfast. ... It might be helpful to state that breakfast is taken in the room. ... It was ideally located, easily accessible to all areas of Venice, moderately priced, clean, friendly staff although English was limited.

The staff were very helpful, reccommending good restaurants, calling for our dinner reservations, and getting us a water taxi when we left.
The breakfast provided was tasty, but small, only coffee and sweet rolls. The addition of some plain bread rolls and fruit would be nice. ... The hotel was in a lovely, quiet area of Venice, yet still close to transportation and sights. I would reccommend it to friends and stay there again myself.

Breakfast in the room ... A very nice place to stay. The room was nicely furnished; the heating was functioning all right, which is very important in March; we had a nice canal view; the quarter Dorsoduro is very nice and quiet; I can all but recommend this B&B!

Our 'canal view' that we paid for was on the first floor and as a result we had bars on our windows which really detracted from the canal view. Other than that, it was very nice (but expensive).

I'm not sure the regular person was greeting us, but she was not at all polite--was talking on the phone, didn't even look up, just barked 'passports!' Everyone else seemed very polite there. Unfotunately that was how our experience started. It went uphill from there. ... We were initally quite disappointed that the door to our room was right by the reception desk. In fact it ended up being quieter than we imagined.
