Any directions in Venice are confusing! The
water taxi would not take me, saying it was
a mere 5 minute walk. True, but you do have
to lug your bags over about 4 bridges. And
once I found Campo San Maria Margeretta,
there was seemingly no way to find the
Locanda Matir. Fortunately a friendly cafe
waitress left her restaurant to show me to
the cul de sac, which once you have found it
is easy enough to find again if you have
paid close attention!

My room sat over a semi-busy walk between a
church, over a bridge and into the main
Campo. There was a gellato and a small pub
on that walk, serving a young crowd at
night. So there was some 'nightclub' noise,
but not bad with the shutters and window
closed, and it did not last very late into
the night.

They do require you to check out by 10 am,
but will allow you to keep you bags in the
hallway and drop off the main door key later
in the day.

See above comments about the street noise
and difficulty finding it.

Very accommodating, clean, friendly. Try to
get exact walking directions from the bus
station, especially if you are not familiar
with Venice. Take earplugs if you are
sensitive to noise at night. There are lots
of interesting shops, churches and landmarks
right in your own nieghborhood!
