I can't say enough how pleased my wife and I were with this hotel. We were treated fantastic by the person at the desk when we arrived, Red (but had a shaved head). We actually visited a day before our arrival to make sure we could find the place, which turned out to be very easy to find and he was great then too. The owners where there when we checked out and they were very concerned about our stay and that we were satisfied.
The hotel is in a great location with only one turn and short level distance from the ferry dock you come in on. Made bringing our luggage just as easy as any hotel we could stay at even if we drove up to one.
Our WorldBy.com rep, Nadia was so good I couldn't believe it. I must've written her for information concerning Venice a dozen times, and each time got the help I needed almost as immediately as I wrote her. I even wrote the day before asking if she could get a phone number I couldn't find anywhere (not our hotel) and it was returned with the number within an hour. Thanks for a great experience.

It was a nice little hotel with a friendly and warming atmosphere close to the city centre, the St. Marcus Square was just a few blocks away. The view from our room was excellent. From our window we could watch the daily life in Venice with gondoliers on a small bridge trying to persuade tourists to take a ride on their gondola, stands and restaurants crowded with people. Although there was lots of activity with people outside the hotel during day time and in the evening we had no problems with noise from the street at bed time since at least this part of the city calmed down after 2200. Altogether we were very pleased with our choice of hotel and every Euro spent on that part of our visit was well spent. Also, we were positively surprised since we picked this hotel due to its low price.

We arrived early so could not check into our room immediately but that was no problem.

The hotel looked newly refurbished and the room was spacious and very quiet. It overlooked a piazza from the 3rd floor and the double glasing blocked all noise from the street. We were really impressed by the size and state of the room. The mattress is very firm.

The hotel is centrally located, close to San marco square and within easy access from the vaporetto(water taxi)points. The value is excellent and the hotel has been totally refurbished this year. i can definately recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to explore Venice.

Yes, our stay was exceptional, and any questions we had were answered or shown without hesitation..........plus the morning breakfasts were a great way to get the day started for the sight seeing.

The hotel had the invoice ready when we checked out, as well as assistance in handling our extra amount of luggage, and also making arrangements for the water taxi to take us to the airport.........these were done by the hotel, as we really did not know that much about the transportatiion situation in Venice............and I might add that this kind of extra service goes a long way about the personnel of the hotel that is not in any of your literature,again that extra 10%. which makes a successful relationship for the customer.............

We arrived in a blizzard so had a little difficulty locating the hotel, we didn't realise it was so close to the water bus stop. The receptionist was very helpful even though it was quite late in the evening.

There was a problem with water leakage in our room, but the hotel staff dealt with it in a very professional manner, and moved us to another room - taking care of our luggage during the move. Very well done. One member of the staff also gave us several good restaurant recommendations - informing us about restaurants and trattoria's away from the tourist route. We used on recommendation and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

The fine aspects of an elegant seventeenth century Venetian mansion - with modern plumbing! Everything from lighting fixtures to upholstery and furniture were of finest quality, as true to the peroiod as possible, and in excellent condition. We arrived at almost the exact time that we said we would (more by luck than judgement) but the Concierge seemed impressed! Easy to miss the narrow entrance to Calle Albanesi from the Vaporetto stop but only minutes to get to from the next Calle.

The room was exceptionally good and spacious, first class en suite facilities and amazingly quiet for such a central location. We were in the Superior Double room 32.

Friendly staff, clean, well maintained Hotel. Our room seemed to be more 4 star than 2. Very centrally located near to some excellent restaurants and a very welcoming little bar run by women only as far as we could tell. Hotel was very good value for money which surprised me given Venice's reputation for being expensive.

Small but friendly, only 150 metres from St Marks and handy for vaparetto and exploring Castello. We stayed in the separate Dependance Cavenella c 50 metres away which was clean, quiet and reasonably comfortable. Given the location and the facilities the Locanda was excellent value for money and we will stay there again

The staff was very nice and friendly, but the lady in the breakfast room was utterly impolite. To be able to keep up with the good service in general she should be replaced. Also things like tea at the breakfast was often finished in the mornings.

After alighting from the waterbus at st Marks Square we went round in a huge circle even with Italian friends and it took us a long time to find the hotel. On arrival we found that the location of the hotel was quite near to where we embarked from the ferry!!! This needs to be made clear to potential clients.

I arrived late in the afternoon, and left early next morning, so did not have a chance to see much of the hotel. My room was most comfortable and quite spacious, with attractive fittings and a very good bathroom, but without windows. The bed was a double and very comfortable. A message left earlier that day by friends was given to me immediately on arrival. I had to leave early, well before breakfast but the young man on duty helped me with what was available, before the breakfast staff arrived. I had help getting my bag from reception to the room, up very steep stairs on the third floor, which I appreciated greatly, as the luggage was heavy. The bag was also brought down from the room next morning. The reception area, and breakfast area are very small.
I would happily recommend the hotel, and the area is interesting and close to San Marco, vaporetti, and other attractions, such as shops and restaurants. I have stayed previously in that part of Castello, and so knew my way around, but it did take a little time to find the hotel itself. I would have enjoyed a longer stay.

location wasnt easy to find because of construction blocking the alleyway (which was so small it was virtually impossible to find.) Didnt really matter though as I was able to find it regardless using a different road. The map really helped.

It might be helpful to provide instructions for those flying into Treviso airport so they know it's necessary to take a shuttle and a vaporetto. That adds another hour to the trip.

Excellent proximity to Marcus Square, but Calle di Albanesi extremely difficult to find at the arrival due to works hiding the entrance into the street from Viale Schiavani! Breakfast room very small with just 3 tables! Gorgeous bathroom!

I was very satisfied with locanda al leon for that price, what a location and cleanliness. However, although they claimed that the room they gave us was quadruple, the 4th bed was not at all sleepable. it was a very sunken mattress that looked lethal for one's back. we just crowded into one bed, since we are family we could do this. Since it was satisfactory otherwise, I did not really mind. But they should really not offer such UNsleepable mattress.

The room that was booked in the Cavanello was not available on our arrival and we had to stay that night at Laconda Al Leon.
All the staff were most friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

We got an apartment that was located 10 minutes walk away, they told us that this was much better, as we had asked for a ground floor room due to problems with walking in stairs, though walking back for 10 minutes to the hotel to get breakfast and check out was not that easy either so we would have preferred to have the superior room that we booked in the first place but did not have any choice.

The accommodation was a present from my daughter that had booked the accommodation for us and had left her credit card details to pay for it, instead on check out we had to pay for the bill and not as agreed.

misled about how far the apartment was from the hotel - it was clean but cold (could have had the heating on before we arrived). The apartment could do with some rugs to make it feel warmer.
