This has to be the best place to stay in Venice. The apt is great. There are a lot of stairs, so you have to be ok with that. But the terrace and view are truly amazing. The owner's family is very caring and makes you feel like a guest in their home. We'll stay there again. ... We got breakfast early so as to get to our early flight. ... One of the best values anywhere. A little away from most of the tourists, but just a 5-minute walk to the vaporetto. Stay there.

The advance email instructions on how to find the reception at (Ca'Alexander B & B) were also very helpful. Then, Sabrina and Favio (The owners) walked us the short distance to Ca'delle Ancore Apartment, even providing umbrellas, as it was raining!
... Everything (absolutely everything) had been thought of in the kitchen and there were lots of spare towels. The apartment was light and modern, though still in the traditional Venetian decor. The canal view was fantastic. Proximity to local shops, supermarkets and restaurants, bars and gardens, ... Ca'delle Ancore apartment was fantastic. It was a perfect base, easisly accessable to everything (transport, food shops, local restaurants, bars, gardens, the Arsenale. Private, well appointed, immaculatedly clean. Lovely family owning and managing it. Excellent value for money.

Very friendly and welcoming. ... Very clean and breakfast in morning was warm and excellent. Fridge stocked with some essentials was very nice. ... Watching the ambiance of the neighborhood in the evenings and sunrise from private terrace was priceless. Away from all of the tourist activity was a welcome escape at the end of the day. ... Location, proprietors and apartment itself were perfect.

We could not have asked for a nicer apartment or more welcoming hosts at Ca' Alexander. Our flight from Bristol was delayed and for various reasons, we did not actually arrive at the apartment until midnight. Senor Lazzari and his wife were charming, despite having been disturbed, and took time to explain basics about the apartment before retiring. We thought the standard of accommodation was very good and everything was spotlessly clean. Fresh croissants, juice, bread rolls and pastries were provided each morning for us to collect (just outside our door so no inconvenience experienced). The shower area in the toilet was a little cramped (so could be difficult for larger people)but this is one small point in amongst many positive comments and not intended to undermine the overall quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the layout and space, including the wonderful terrace, of this superb apartment. Marilyn & Peter Osowski September 2007 ... As our return flight was not until 9.15p.m. we appreciated being offered to leave our luggage in a secure ground-floor storage area. Our hosts were very gracious and made a point of thanking us for everything before we left! ... nothing other than the earlier reference to confined shower area - i.e. larger people would possibly find it difficult to manoevure. ... Located in the lovely neighbourhood of Castello and a joy to stay in. (we don't mind stairs and knew there was no lift when we booked|) A charming and well equipped apartment with great views over the rooftops and via Garibaldi.

The door to the property is a bit hidden in a very small street and for someone not used to hidden streets the instructions could have been more specific about which little street to turn down. ... It was absolutely wonderful. ... I left in the early hours of the morning, but they arranged a breakfast for me anyway. ... The balcony is totally private, on the top floor. It is outside of the main tourist area and hence very peaceful -- yet only a short walk from St.Marks Square. ... A quiet oasis in a noisy city.
