Rooms are rather small but - it is Venice...

On a good location near the railway station and vaporetto station. Easily accessible. Small but clean rooms.

the breakfast was better and 'more' than in other hotels in venice.
more means not only the wrapped toast...(but we get also that one :-) ) and also croissants, butter, ham and cheese, jam and chocolate cream. as well as coffee and tea...
very nice staff. with closed windows it was very quiete. shower and hairdryer were a challenge...but I can recommend this hotel.
very near to piazzale roma and railway station nevertheless in the middle of beautiful venice.

We had stayed at the Basilea before.

A very pleasant hotel, on a pretty side canal, conveniently placed for travel, restaurants and local shops.

The only problem we had was the noise
from the building work going on outside
the hotel - drilling and hammering
started rather early in the morning.
We were also expecting a double bed in
our double room but got two single beds
separated by a bedside table
...
Pleasant, traditional Venetian hotel. We
enjoyed having two of our rooms
overlooking canals although the canal
traffic could be a bit noisy

We were very pleased with our stay. There was a lot of noise from slamming doors, etc. the first night, but it may have been from the school group that was staying there.
