My wife and I do rate hotels according to whether morning tea is served out of a teapot or you have to mess around with awkward and wasteful teabags. This is the only point on which Villa Patrizia would not make it.

This is a beautiful old villa in grounds in a suburb of Siena. Unfortunately, the rooms and grounds are rather run down. The place needs an entire face lift. The deluxe room assigned to me and my wife was large, but oddly decorated with uncomfortable beds and a very strange bathroom.

This is definitely not a deluxe property. 'Grand' is not the word to use. Of course, from the price you could determine that it wouldn't be top notch. The food in the restaurant was, for Italy, not good at all. The grounds, however, were beautiful. The villa is about a 15 euro cab ride from the center of Siena. There is no convenient public transportation to the center.

I would tell them to try somewhere else.

WE will recommend to friends and family as a quiet, friendly hotel with a wonderful staff in a good location. The grounds are beautiful and were just beginning to be ready for summer when I thinhk it will be even more beautiful. Thank you for being always so helpful with directions etc.

Warm, friendly, quaint and a great place for peace and quiet. The hotel and rooms are very clean and the staff was the best! This hotel is well know in the area and a pleasent surprise. My husband and I played backgammon, drank a martini on the outside porch and relaxed! The food is also outstanding.

The room we had was beautiful very spacious and clean. The bathromm was large and clean, however, I struggled with the blow dryer. This hotel was ultra convenient to walk into the walled city as well as take advantage of the eateries and shops outside of the walled city. The bus stop was right outside the hotel gates.

staff was delightful.
overall the property is a bit of a faded lady in the sense that it was poorly lit in hallways, carpet was worn, panel was hanging loose in our bathroom.
breakfast was good, dinner not so good.

PS next time I will stay in city center, getting into center was a hassle

The carpets are in need of cleaning and the AC didn't work. Otherwise everything was very nice. The restaurant was also very nice.

This is a very nice hotel in a great location and with beautiful grounds. My only real complaints were regarding the AC not working and the carpet in the room being in need of cleaning.

Hotel is a little run down.
Pool area in particular needs major repairs.
Cracks in cement, mildew on pool tiles.

The property is runned down and starting to show wear and tear. Air conditioning did not function properly even after numerous complaints. Restaurant service for dinner could improve.

After staying at other Italian hotels, I find it difficult to accept that it is a 4 star hotel - more like a 2 -3.

It would be hard to play tennis since the court was full of twigs and leaves.

I complained about our shower door as being half missing. They said they would check it out and no-one ever did.
There is no concierge available and therefore poor recommendations and driving instruction.

The breakfast served was as poor as one can get. It was completely unappetizing and disappointing. I think when you do not have a good quality bed and pillow and you do not have a decent shower and then your breakfast is tasteless, it does not say much for a thought about recommending this hotel to anyone!

My shower complained was never noted. I had to bring it up at check-out.

The grounds are lovely, the hotel needs a complete face lift, and food needs a great deal of improvement.
