The place is ideal to make new friends and mix with people from all corners of the world. The owner is great entertainment. Mixed equally with all the guests. Fantastic knowledge of the area and made good suggestions of places to go to. Communicated in exteremely well in english.

If you are looking for a quiet place that is very central in Tuscany, Il Vicario is the place to be. The guest house is on a hilltop with breathtaking views of San Gimignano and the surrounding vineyards.
You can access the great towns like Siena, Lucca, Montalcino, Montupcino, Frenze and the Island of Elba by car within and hour of two.
The host is exteremely helpful and entertaining, and best of all it is great value for money. We will be going back

The owners provided us with maps and the loan of guidebooks for our trips out along with excellent advice re the best restaurants etc.

Wonderful place to stay. Best host in our 6 weeks in Europe - helpful, engaging, fun. The dinners we shared with other guests were great. One of the best experiences I've had. Highly recommended. Great location and great facilities
Being greeted with a bottle of champagne in your room is a bonus.

A great way to have the Tuscan experience. Local knowledge of the host is invaluable and he offers to make phoncalls to organise things for you.
Compares very favourably cost wise with other places.

It is possible to have dinner there, with wine from the property being served. Nice meals and not expensive compared to what you would pay elsewhere.

A very convenient place from which to drive to Florence, Siena, Chianti etc. Also really good to be close to San Gimignano,a great place to go for dinner if you follow Fulvio's recommendations!

Fulvio and Katia were extremely helpful in recommending places to visit and to eat which greatly enhanced our enjoyment of the area. It was like having knowledgeable and cheerful local friends. Our rooms were spacious and spotless and we would definitely visit again.

I highly recommend Il Vicario. For us, it was a base to see San Gimingnano and Florence, but we should have stayed more than 3 days. Fresh fruit at breakfast is most appreciated however we saw no grapes or olives despite growing everywhere.

This is rustic Tuscan accommodation in the making. There are still some things that will probably need to be improved like the plastic courtyard chairs and tables and the western 70's kitchen/living room in the apartment. However the quality of service from Fulvio and Katia cannot be overstated.

We saw the sign for parking by the pool but because there were cars parked in front of the small Il Vicario sign on the fence we found ourselves at the property next door ringing their bell and then proceeded to the next property on the right before we finally saw the sign for your property. A biger sign would have been most helpful plus a sign on the road to say Il Vicario ahead would have been helpful

You mention a tuscan dinner in your list of amenities but you could include some details such as that they are prepared from local food include wine are delicious and are very reasonably priced=usually served a t 8 pm but Fulvio will accommodate an earlier sitting if you wish..

our stay at Il vicario was everything we had hoped it would be. Fulvio and Katia were always very helpful with directions for our sightseeing. It is a quiet retreat in the beautful hills of Tuscany set amid the olive groves and vineyards. Driving to the hill towns is an adventure as the roads are windy and hilly.

They provided us with a larger apartment style accommodation after i booked a 4 person room which they thought would be too cramped. they didn't even charge us extra for the very roomy apartment. Breakfast was generous, varied and very very good. The owners also suggested good restaurants in San Gimignano without receiving commissions - they simply suggested the best there was in their own opinion which was rather refreshing.

We were provided with drinks (juice, water, beer) on arrival and the host even gave us cut watermelon without prompting as we lazed by his pool. He did not charge us for these

Quiet, rustic place. Beautiful old building on a site with fantastic views over the hills. Good location for access to San Gimignano and Siena. Swimming pool very cold at this time of year!

house, bedroom and facilities insite were exactly as on the web site but outsite more specifictly the pool and aroud the pool were not like the web site. The pool was not clean and the pool's fournitures were not confortable
