When we arrived the outside door was locked and no-one answered our knocks. We had been given a mobile phone number to ring and after we talked to the landlord he arrived within 10 minutes. He was very welcoming and from that point on things were ok. ... As it was not a hotel there were no permanent staff there to help in the event of a problem. In fact we only saw the landlord on our arrival then again on our departure. He was very helpful when we arrived and told us all about the transport system.
The only problem was the water fountain in the hall for the general use of all the occupants. It became empty on the Friday and was not refilled until Monday so we weren't able to make tea to have in the room.
The breakfast was at the cafe across the road and consisted of a drink and a cake or doughnut so no good if you're after a big buffet style breakfast.
Not exactly central but handy for the metro which connected to most of the sites. 10 minutes walk to the Colosseum and not far from Termini station. ... Our room and the others as far as we could see were unusually decorated with old movie posters all over the walls and personal antique toys on the shelves - very interesting. ... Don't be put off by the outside appearance of the building or the inside reception area for that matter because the rooms themselves are lovely. Nice en-suite too. No good though if you want hotel style facilities.

There is no staff actually working in the B&B. They are just around in the morning to clean the rooms. ... Clean and tidy. Basic but with everything needed i.e. shower and bed!
