When we entered our hotel room there were pieces of luggage belonging to another couple. When I went back downstairs they had realized the error as the couple was at the desk. We went upstairs and they removed the luggage but then we had to wait for our room to be checked over by the maid. We were offered a drink and given four mugs. The service was recommended. Just an error in booking of the rooms. Understandable but they took care of it right away.

I would take out the fruit baskets from the room. It was not really a basket but a few pieces of fruit and not the greatest. No need to have the fruit as the hotel and the rooms speak for themselves.
Also the breakfast in the morning is nothing that great. I had two children ages 15 and 12 and they didn't eat much.

Yes I would. The area was safe and the rooms were very clean and up to date. The washroom was very clean and accomodating. Compared to a few hotels in Italy I have stayed at Hotel Romea is very good.

The hotel was in the midst of having some renovation work being done to it. I'm glad to see that management is interested in improving this hotel and in improving the hotel's lobby area. I first used your hotel in 2001 and was pleased with the location and value offered. In the future I'll plan on staying there when visiting Rome.

One of my reasons for choosing your hotel was it's location to the Castro-Pratorio subway line. A little flyer could be handed out to visitors explaining where the subway stop is and how to use it to easily get to many of Rome's major attractions. I would think that it could be a major selling point for your hotel. There is no real info on it in the lobby nor does anyone tell you about the ease of using the subway. Bus or tram info would be helpful also as many guide books do not go into detail concerning it's use.

I've described it to my family and friends who have stayed there with me as a moderately priced, family hotel that sits in a safe neighborhood. Rooms are clean and quiet and are located in a building that is centrally located to things that one would wish to see in Rome. The breakfast and coffee are great also in the morning.

The noise in the hotel was horrendous, banging loud music people hanging around making noise all night/early hours of morning. Someone decided to turn music on full blast at 6.30am. We hardly got any sleep.

The clerk at front desk was very polite, even though he was busy. All front desk staff spoke English. This was a great help.

The airconditioning did not function well. The newer style bathroom was very nice. The hotel is on a fairly quiet street,in a clean area of he city. I would stay there again if I went back to Rome.

Hotel Romae was perfectly situated to visit Rome, with only a short walk to the main bus and train station Termini. It made travelling around the city and the transfer to the airport very easy.
A well stocked breakfast buffet in next doors Mamma Angelas gave us the energy to tackle sightseeing each day.
After arriving in Rome in a heatwave the air conditioning, which we hadn't even taken into consideration when booking, was a god send.
Overall we had a lovely stay in the Hotel Romae and would recommend it to a friend.

Jordi and others at the hotel were very helpful and charming. We felt instantly welcome and at home. We could not check in immediately since we arrived early, but felt our possessions were safe with them. From that location we could walk to many interesting sites without getting into the bus/train system right away.

Due to a tremendous rainstorm one evening they gave a huge umbrella for our use and offered two. The internet connection was useful and readily available; coffee in the bar by anyone on the staff was great. The restaurant set up across the street worked out well for the included breakfast.

Hotel Romae was a very pleasant place to stay. The room accomadated us all 3 kids & 2 adults facilities were basic but adequate.Good restaurants in the area and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere in that area.Hotel staff were very helpfull one morning we were going on an early tour & receptionist gave us our brekfast cappacino & croissants.

I suppose I was hoping for a more genuinely Italian, friendly, 'in-country charm' experience rather than foreigners giving perfunctory service... but then again this is a major city and a great rate. I felt safe in the area and it was very convenient to the train station, a closer Metro station, and some cafes on Piazza Independenza.

The property was fine, but lacked some of the charm, newness and cleanliness that I expected from the website. The room that I was in had old facilities (floor tiles cracked, old bathroom fixtures) and the bedspread wasn't very clean (stained). But it did look out into a private courtyard which was more charming (with fresher air) than a street view, and was quiet.

The only issue I would like to mention is the somewhat excessive noise in the mornings- I did not double check the source of it, but it was like cleaners were chatting in quite loud voices all the time in the (hotel) corridor/courtyard quite early in the morning. The breakfast was adequate but could be improved given that people expect to be treated to good food in Italy(i.e. fresher/better choice of bread/croissants).

Beware of unlicensed taxi drivers skamming tourists at the train station. These guys are very persuavive! Be sure to find the official taxi line.

Front Desk personnel were very friendly and helpful. Room was spotless. The location is great: very close to the train station, buses and metro. Neighborhood felt safe. Special kudos to the manager David, who sets the tone for excellent customer service. If you need quiet for sleeping be sure and ask for a back room: the front rooms overlook youth hostels and a rather rowdy bar/cafe. Little patio is lovely; and the hotel has a free internet terminal. Minimalist breakfast w/excellent coffee that did the job getting us out for site-seeing.

When we asked the night before about getting a taxi to the airport the following morning, the person told us that they would call in the morning and it would take about 5 minutes. However, the morning we left, the guy at the front desk said that they usually reserve taxis the night before, so there is some confusion with the staff. He called that morning and it took about 15 minutes. We prepaid the taxi at the hotel, then when we got to the airport, the driver was confused and wanted us to pay him. Luckily, I speak some Italian and got the guy to call the hotel and the problem was solved.

Know Rome is an expensive place to stay, but think for the price they could have offered a better accomidation. In a pinch would stay there again.

They need to improve the lighting. It was the darkest place we have ever stayed in. Glad I brought a flashlight. Also the decorations and furnishings could be improved. Was clean and a comfortable. Fairly good location for connections for travel in historic Rome and train station. Breakfast better then expected.

As stated the staff were friendly and helpful at all times ,but we needed to get the bedroom floor cleaned from previous occupants and the bedcover smelt musty.
The room (101)is in need of redecoration, the walls being dull and grubby looking.It would have helped if the room had double or secondary glazing as the street was very noisey at night the room wasn`t as spacious as we would have liked.
we did enjoy our stay other than the above comments.
