The rooftop terrace was enclosed in plastic for protection from the weather. It was, however, a beautiful week when we were there and it would have provided a great view and lovely breeze if the plastic had been removed.

A lovely Roman hotel with spacious and clean rooms. There is an elevator on the property. The staff was both efficient and friendly. Our window looked out on one of the best shopping streets in Rome. Very conveniently located near the Spanish Steps.

we had a wondeful stay at La Lumiere di Piazza di Spagna. The staff were so freindly, the hotel was peacful and quite, never got any disturbances. It was right in the heart of the city and within easy walking distnace of all the sites. The hotel kindly booked our taxi to and from the airport. I really couldnt fault the hotel in any way.

straordinari la colazione veniva servita in
camera ma non c'era un menu e non si sapeva
cosa ordinare. la cameriera non parlava bene
italiano e ha portato cose diverse da quelle
richieste.

The roof top eating area was enclosed in plastic. I assume this is for the colder weather; however, Rome was very warm. With the enclosure, it was very hot for breakfast. It would have been much nicer to enjoy the open air.

The Lumiere was everything and more than we had hoped for. The room was beautiful and had a great view of the street below. There were no street noises because of the double paned glass. The bathroom was spotless; clean as a whistle! Breakfast on the roof was delightful with a tasty assortment and coffee made fresh just for us! We would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to everyone. Five stars and a gold seal for the Lumiere!

The A/C was turned off on10/31. Even though the nights were cool, it was impossible to open the window to get any fresh air due to the excessive street noise, consequently our room was very uncomfortable for sleeping the last 3 nights of our stay. The staff was informative, but offered no solutions for this problem.

That the area has very loud street noise, often until 3 AM and that you turn cooling off on 10/31 anyway.

Our visit occured durning an unseasonably warm spell the beginning of May. The air conditioning was not operating for the first nights of our stay and caused a bit of discomfort in our room at the top of the hotel. However, the A/C was turned on two days after we mentioned it to the receptionist. This was earlier than planned by the hotel and earlier than done in the past.

The morning (until 3 pm) female receptionist was incredibly helpful. It would have been useful to know a little bit more about the surrounding area - restaurants, bus/train services etc - perhaps in an information pack. Coffee not Italy's finest!

Our room was clean and relatively quiet,
considering the location of the hotel.
However, the bathroom was small and I am a
bit claustrophobic. We had a second stay
beginning Nov. 14th and that bathroom
was larger. I lost an earring in our room
on our first stay and it was waiting for
me upon our return..very impressive!

Frankly, we expected a somewhat larger bathroom -- it was really a tight fit.
Also, it would be helpful if there was a clock in the room.
Staff were polite and helpful in making reservations at restaurants.

I was disappointed that there was no provision for breakfast before 0800, even when notifying staff the day before.

We had ordered a shuttle to the airport the night before. The morning person did not know about it and we nearly missed it. Better communication and follow through is necessary. Also, we had to find the shuttle ourselves. The hotel should make options available to guests. The only suggestion they had was an exorbitantly expensive limosine service.

The receptionist was busy elsewhere in the hotel. One of the cleaning staff told us she would be back shortly. We were not advised that only one credit card could be used for payment. Normally we pay separately in other hotels and not had any problem.

The room was onthe small side - the images on the website are slightly misleading. The jacuzzi shower did not work. There was construction work ongoing in an adjacent property whoch commenced at 8am. We should have been advised of this on arrival

breakfast: not a good variety, very sober.
Second morning 45 minutes to late, cold area to eat, only after a long wait some basic food, no staff available to order a coffee!!
Then I overheard the staff at the frontdesk talking, an employer had not shown up that morning. There was no information or apology to the customers......
