Hotel Golden organised a mini bus for 6 of us to and from the airport. They negotiated a reasonable price and ensured that they were there to pick us up on arrival.

In my mind's eye I expected the Hotel to be bigger than it was, however the quality of the rooms and the service was excellent. The location is very good too. We walked to all major attractions from the Hotel

I'm not sure whether the web site mentioned about there being minibars in each room. Generally it may also be worth mentioning the convenience store right outside the Hotel which we used regualarly for water and snacks etc.

The car transfer from the airport was said to be 35 euros, the driver asked for 45 euros. I had asked when booking such a late transfer whether there would be a supplement I was told the price would be 35 euros so I was a little dissapointed but half expected it as it was 2 in the morning when we arrived at the hotel so only a minor point.

The stay was fine apart from one afternoon we had a break from sight seeing and retired to our room for 2 hours the families young children made some noise but nothing over the top. After all I guess it is their home as well.
The hotel boasts satellite TV only 1 english channel - should be made clearer on website again only a minor point.

A good base from which the Trevi fountain, Spanish steps and good shopping are all within easy reach.
Explore the immediate surrounding area for good upper class restaraunts and cheaper ones too. The cafe bars close to the spanish steps offer tourist food where you can find better food closer to the hotel on the Via Venneto
Overall I was pleasantly pleased with the location - dissapointed that the hotel did not have a bar to relax in after a hard days walking and sightseeing
But I think the Hotel Golden is probably best described as a Rome version of a typical English Guest House.

A nice friendly hotel, clean, good breakfast, fair price. In a quiet street, not to far from the most important monuments of the city. Lots of good restaurants on walking distance.

I would describe it as a clean, spacious hotel in an excellent location for seeing all the major sites in Rome. Hotel also excellent value for money when compared with other hotels in the same area.

Perhaps it was mentioned that Hotel Golden was in a private building behind a locked door, but that was a bit of a surprise when we arrived. Is this something Italian with which we are not familiar? Getting the bags up one flight of stairs was a nuisanse.

Hotel Golden is a real find. Just one block from Via Veneto and the Villa Borghese, this charming hotel located on the second floor of an apartment building is clean, roomy and comfortable with an exceptionally courteous and helpful staff.

We had asked Hotel Golden to arrange for a taxi to be waiting for us at Ciampiano Airport. We were met as requested and the charges were in accordance with our agreement. When we arrived at the hotel, we were treated with exemplary courtesy and advised as to where we might find a good lunch nearby.

This was not our first visit to Italy but it was our first time in Rome. We were intent on seeing as much of the city as we could in a week's stay so we really intended only to be in the hotel to sleep and have breakfast. Hotel Golden was ideal for our purposes: our room was perfectly clean and comfortable; the air-conditioning a blessing because it was very hot throughout our stay. The breakfasts were very satisfactory and more than adequate. Signor Marco and Signor Guiseppe and Signora Lorari were unfailingly helpful, patient with our totally inadequate Italian and did everything they could to make our stay trouble free.

Unless you want a luxury hotel, the Hotel Golden will provide you with all that you need because it is clean, comfortable and the owners are really nice people. The hotel is a few metres from the Via Veneta where you can get public transport to almost areas of the city although, for the most part, we walked everywhere. You will be very close to the Galleria Borghese which you must visit. I don't think you will regret staying at the Golden.

We were thrilled with every aspect of our stay. The staff arranged for transportation from the airport, which was a huge help. The breakfast was wonderful, the people were friendly, and the property was very comfortable and clean.

The brothers are both very helpful, friendly, gave good tips on things to see and directions to get around and both spoke very good english, since I arrived early, they were wonderful about keeping my luggage, allowing me to change clothes etc before setting out to explore. They also had arranged for my transportation from the airport for me.

The room was smaller than expected, but that is,I have found, normal in Europe compared to US, the room was beautifully decorated, clean and better than expected....The bathroom was larger than expected. Very nice!!!

The doors on the inside and outside of the hotel are usually locked, you press a button outside to let them know you need in and they buzz you in, as a single woman traveling alone, I thought this added safety was excellent....

Small, quiet hotel, great location, cafes and nice restaurants next door and nearby all directions, easy access to sites by walking or using bus or tram. Felt extremely safe, being a single woman traveling alone, as the doors are locked and the owners unlock the doors for you as you come in and go out. Beautifully decorated room, helpful and friendly owners who speak english well. I was extremely happy there.

Hotel Golden is an excellent 2-star hotel. Oue rooms were large & comfortable with well appointed bathrooms. The staff were very helpful. You need to be prepared for some walking as the hotel is located away from the city centre. The breakfast room is very small. We would definitely return here.

Nice small hotel,well located for sightseeing-about 15 minute walk to Spanish Steps,Villa Borghese, Trevi Fountain. Marco very helpful with good suggestions for dining etc.Il Pomodori only a short 5 min walk was our favourite.

This is a good value in Rome and fairly handy to site seeing locations if you are able to walk. Otherwise, there are buses that are very convenient and the staff is most helpful with these arrangements.

I arrived by hired car, so question 1 is not relevant.
Reception was very welcoming. Map provided along with directions on the best routes to sites. Metro and city bus information provided.

No staff at the desk when I went to check out at about 7:30. Staff member arrived to the property while I was standing there and didn't seem prepared for my check-out. No problems were caused by this.

Small and cozy hotel. I felt like I was staying with the family that operates the property. A little bit uncomfortable with the fact that my room was about 20 feet from the reception area. That made the room feel not so private, and also exposed me to a child running around making noise at the front desk.
