Elyssa and Alessandro were outstanding in welcoming us to the Daphne.

Elyssa was the consumate concierge when it came time to helping us take advantage of what Rome has to offer. When my daugther suticase got lost and it had to be retrieved from the airport, Elyssa dogged the airline relentlessly to get it delivered to the hotel. Breakfast was excellent but most of all, the kindness and generosity of Elyssa and Alessandro was simply amazing. I would stay at the Daphne any time I was in Rome.

The availability of cell phones (we just paid for the minutes) was very convenient, especially in communicating with our college-age kids who accompanied us. The location of the Daphne is great. Also, the availablility of free Internet access is a real plus.

Elyssa and Alessandro are what set the Daphne apart from just about every hotel and B&B we have ever stayed at. That are so helpful that whatever you need they seem to be able to accommodate. The accommodations are very comfotable and convenient to getting around to some of the best that Rome has to offer. When you put it all together, the value for the price is exceptional.

a very helpful and pleasant receptionist was there to welcome us, and give us hints and tips about what to see and where to eat in rome, which made the stay at daphne even better.

i would recommend it to a friend, it was very centrally located, the rooms are clean and nice decorated, however, next time I will ask for a private bathroom.

i think the place was nice, and was not disappointed. But did feel the rooms were very small, much smaller than they looked on the web site, and were noisy. Out room was below the breakfast room, and we were woken every morning at 7am ish. We also had a very noisy water drainage system.
The staff were lovely and helpful and the place was decorated nicely, but for £80 a night I think it is a little expensive.

At Daphne B&B they make you feel welcome. After a very long flight and then train ride it was a welcome relief to enter our home away from home. At Daphne, their hospitality and graciousness far exceeded all of our expectations. They were able to recommend very local restaurants off of the beaten path. We were incredibly pleased with our stay and will definetly stay there again.

The Daphne provides a high level of customer service that is often not found in many hotels or B&B's. They took the time to help us plan our stay in Rome: dinner reservations, maps, gelato recommendations, etc. And, the beds are extremely comfortable!

Taxi is the easiest way to arrive, and for 2 people travelling together the cost is comparable to getting the train from the airport and then a taxi from the train station. Much easier.

Daphne far exceeded our expectations. The rooms are new and simply but beautifully decorated, it is quiet and spacious, and has a very at-home feel to it. The staff, however, were what was really outstanding about Daphne. Their constant friendliness and kindness was impressive, and they really helped to make our visit to Rome a fantastic one. From helping us plan our stay to being excited for us about our honeymoon, they really can't be thanked enough.

Daphne is exceptionally good value for money for a quality standard of location in the centre of Rome. We chose to stay at Daphne originally because of its central location and competitive price (hotels in central Rome were extremely expensive). However, it was so good in every aspect. I would recommend it to everyone.

If you're in Rome as a tourist, this is the place to stay. Lovely accomodations, wonderful staff - helpful, knowledgable, very friendly - like being welcomed into a family! They knew (or checked) on opening times for museums, made reservations for exhibits and dinners, helped with a medical problem, and arranged taxis and airport transportaion. Giving a cellphone to each room was enormously helpful. What a difference terrific service makes!

The owners and staff at Daphne were extremely helpful and made our travel in experience in Rome much more enjoyable. They went out of their way to provide directions, reservations accomadation our every need. We would have been lost in Rome without their service. Everyone was helpful. We really appreciated her getting the AC going right away to protect us from mosquitoes.
Elysa went out of her way to remake the bed from a twin herself the last night when it had been made up as a twin. She should be careful not to burn out. I think she could have easily said no in that one case since it was only for a night, and we would have understood. The service in general was extremely caring.
My only problem with the Daphne was that I didnt get to practice my languages, a reason I go to Europe.

Beds were excellent, and we liked the clean and spare ambience. Rooms need a bit more surface space to put stuff on, our second bath needed some repairs (wonderful bath tub though. Giving out cells is a great idea, and computer access was terrific. Our mail sent out from those computers was not always received, whhich may or may not have anything to do with Daphne.

Rome is very expernsive. To pay almost $200 a night is a lot for us. In terms of Rome, the Daphne is a reasonable place that I plan to recommend.
Many of the people I talk to either teach Italian or are studying Italian, and to some of them, the lack of opportunity to practice the language may be a bit of a factor.

Yes... that they also have their b&b in a private flat in Rome. Many people like me prefer flats apartment and not those too modern hotels.

The arrival at Daphne B&B was excellent.
We got heaps of information from the receptionist who sat together with us
and pointed things on a map of Rome.
We even got e free upgrade for our room,
so we had an ensuite bathroom.

Just want to add that the best thing was
the recommendations and personal guidence
given for sight-seeing at the time of my
check-in. Because of this my short visit
to Rome turned out to be very productive
and rewarding.

Everything was as we expected since it was described to us in the net. I have some suggestions to improve the services: have a hot water maker for coffee & tea in the room; have a couch in the common living room so we can rest while waiting for our turn in the computer. Maybe also a TV in the bedroom would be a welcome addition. The towels in the bathroom also could be changed- they were quite old , although they were clean.

The staff of the Dahne communicated with us via e-mail to ensure that our arrival would be very easy. They arranged to have a taxi with our name on a sign waiting for us at the airport and we were transported directly to the hotel. The innkeepers were there to greet us...and were extremly welcoming. We were immediately shown to our gorgeous room and all the workings explained to us. It was made clear to us that they would help accommodate our every wish.

The rooms were not only charming and tasteful but immaculate and had every convenience. Our plane from the UK was delayed by about 4.5 hours which means that we did not arrive until 11pm. Somebody stayed up late to greet us and made us feel welcome on arrival.

The location of this B&B is excellent - particularly as the B&B is such great value for money. Only a couple of minutes walk from Trevi Fountain, we were in the middle of Roma no matter what direction we took from the B&B. Also, the B&B is right beside the Barberini Metro station, convenience at its best!
The staff at the B&B were very helpful, following check-in we had a personal induction to Roma, where to shop, what sights to see and where to eat. we were even recommended various routes for sightseeing and shopping!
I thouroughly recommend this B&B, its convenient location, value for money and friendly staff make it an excellent choice - although maybe steer clear of some of the restaurant recommendations!

I did not know that the breakfast would be so nice- it went beyond continental, with a very attentive and nice staff. ALso they have a computer with free internet service on every floor. I didn't think I would use it, but we used it a lot for weather and news. The rooms are ultra modern, very much like the 'W' in my opinion. They also give you a cell phone to use at a very reasonable per minute rate.

I would recomend Daphne B&B to any of my friends who wish to visit Rome in the future,
as it is central to all the sights. The staff are so helpful, as each morning they helped us plan our days sightseeing with a map. We planned to visit Florence and mentioned this to the staff. Later that day we returned to our accomadation to find train times and fares without asking for them.

As this was my first trip to Rome, and on my own, I was quite nervous.I came by express train and metro from the airport,and the instructions from The Daphne were very explicit and easy to follow.Checking-in was straight-forward and took less than half an hour.

The single room at Daphne Veneto was larger than other single rooms I have stayed in, and nicely furnished and decorated. The safe and mini fridge were very useful, and it was handy to have control of the air-conditioning.
The reconnaisance walk was very helpful to give an idea of the distances to various places, including cafes, restaurants etc.

Easy to find, quiet and convenient for either walking or catching bus/metro.

The hotel is in a quiet area of town, but a five minute walk to Spanish Steps, etc. It was always nice to come 'home'. Above all, the facilities were standard for the price. But the staff makes it a deal. They truly make an effort to keep you comfortable, informed, and happy.

The owner who was greeting me when I arrived was very friendly in American way - maybe even too friendly... i mean that even before I had put my luggage and my clothes to my room, the owner wanted to sit down and tell me every detail about the city and in the point of view she had. As i had already told that this was already the 3rd time for me in Rome (and people may have different tastes & wishes) it is not necessaru to know her favoutite coffee shop or gelateria. Any way, after listening for a long while i said that now I want to put my clothes to the closet and if I later have any questions, may i return. Every minute is valuable when you are on holiday trip!

The Daphne property and facilities where very beautiful and nice as i expected. The location also was perfect. The only minus point comes from acoustics of the room I had on the first floor. First: the walls where paper-thin, under the room door there was an open space and with stone floors this let every talking, walking etc in my room. Other hotel guests people had chit-chat with wine glasses and had long-distance phone calls even in the middle of the night in the 'living room' next to me and played noisy computer games in the next guest room. Also the unintented noise from local neigbours woke me up almost every night at 2 am or 4 am, when the Italians started screaming/fighting/weeping in their home for some reason. Worst of all, the water pipelines of the whole block of flats went straight through my room walls without ANY sound-resist-structure (!) so that every time anybody of the guests flushed the toilet/washed hands/had shower ANY time during the whole night, it sounded like a storm in my room and woke me up. I mentioned about this to the hotel receptionist but she said there is nothing she can do. I was quite tired after having 5 nights of this.

I would absolutely suggest Daphne to my frineds because of the location and the looks. However I would strongly suggest the owners to 1) do something to the acoustics and 2) to inform other hotel guests that every whisper in the living room can be heard in the neighouring guest room and therefore some time limits could be set for making noise there, for instance silence between 10 pm and 6 am. If you can´t have a rest during your visit, you can´t get the most of it either during the daytime and feel tired and look tired.

Out of the 4 accomodations we stayed at during our trip, Daphne had the best arrival experience. We were greated by someone who spoke fluent English (she was from Texas), she took us to our room, and she made dinner reservations for us at a place she recommended, which turned out to be one of the best restaurants we have eaten at ever (an accomplishment considering we are from Manhattan). She also offered to help us get the train schedule to Naples

The room was big. There was not a telephone in the room, however the staff provides cell phones for you to use during your stay. The room was quiet. They have a computer in the common area that you can use, and this was very helpful to us. The breakfast was also pretty good.

The staff was extremely helpful. They really wanted to make sure that we had a good time in Rome. They gave us multiple maps, made food recommendations, showed us where the local travel agent was etc. The accomodations were excellent, the location was really good. Our only complaint would be that the hot water ran out on the shower once.

The staff was incredibly helpful with giving us directions and maps of the city. Our hostess was Mimi and she gave us great recommendations for dinners, lunches, coffees and site seeing routes. The only negative (and this is really insignificant but we should share our feelings) We did feel a little pushed to join in on city tours, with other guests. I think they needed to fill a quota, to make the tours happen and that's why may have felt a little pressure. We really just wanted to do our own thing, at our own pace. But in general the Daphne experience was wonderful.

The rooms were *very* clean and the 2 floors were very modern. Since we had a room directly off the main reception area is was sometimes a bit loud. Free Internet was provided, which is a very nice perk to travelers who would like to catch up on news or correspondence in the evenings before you go to bed - unfortunately internet was down for over a 24 hour period while we were there. The location is convinent to walk almost everywhere in the city (for young travelers, but travelers who aren't good walkers can't find a 'good' location accomodations, the city is too large).

They were organized for our departure, but we had to wait longer than anticipated. Normally this isn't a problem, but it was clear that we were heading out for an appointment. In general I found the bed and breakfast very nice and the staff very helpful in their recommendations, however for a double room (however clean) without a private bath I found the price per night too expensive. We paid € 90/night for the room, which was a negotiated price. The next time I am in room, I will also look for a place to stay with Italians running the show. Staying at a place where mostly Americans work, makes your stay more convenient perhaps, but less cultural.

I had e-mailed the Daphne Inn before my arrival for better directions. They were absolutely wonderful. They gave me step by step directions from the Rome airport, using the train, subway, and which streets to take. They did an excellent job.

We regret that the place was new and not finished :there were no curtains (light in the room during the night) and the breakfast was served in an other place that the room place (5 minutes walk). Moreover, the owner made works on the floor below so we had noise the morning. the toilets in the room are also very noisy.
