We could not find the bus stop, we thought it was in the bus station but we found out later that it stops outside on the main road.

The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming, despite the fact that we were arriving late at night. The hotel receptionist provided us with a lot of useful information about the hotel's services, places to dine in the neighborhood, and directions to various Roman landmarks.

We were very impressed with the staff and accomadations at Hotel Sant'Angelo. The staff was very friendly during our entire stay, and they were always fond to wish us a 'good day' or 'good evening' as we came and went.
We found the room to be very spacious, even more than we were expecting based upon the website. The room was also very clean and well-kept, and we felt like we had plenty of privacy. The breakfast provided was very good and satisfying.
Also, we used the airport taxi service both upon arrival and departure from Rome. In both cases, the drivers were on time and drove us quickly to our destinations. It was very convenient to have this service arranged by the hotel and just added to our bill.

The location is perfect! It is a short walking distance to the Centro Storico, the Spanish Steps, and the Vatican, but it is on a quiet street that really makes the guests feel like they are coming 'home' for the night.

The Hotel Sant'Angelo is a wonderful place to stay at while in Rome. It is on a quiet street, but it is still in close proximity to all the exciting neighborhoods of Rome. The main foyer of the building has an impressive marble lobby and staircase, while the hotel lobby is on the 1st floor. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the private bathrooms are wonderful. The staff is very friendly and warm, and they would joke with us every day as we came and went to make us feel like welcome guests to the Sant'Angelo family.
It is a fantastic value for the money, and I will definitly stay with them again the next time that I vacation in Rome. We loved this hotel!

The Taxi Driver (Taxi organised via the Hotel) took us for a mini tour of Rome prior to arriving at the Hotel which was appreciated.

We didn't expect the room/bathroom to be cleaned every day together with fresh towels being supplied daily.
This was a pleasant surprise.

With the hotel being prepared for our check settling our bill was extremely quick.
The hotel also provided a room where we could leave our luggage on check out day. This was very much appreciated as we were not leaving for the airport until 5pm which gave us a further full day in Rome without the worry of what to do with our luggage.

The Hotel is situated on a quiet street away from the noise of Rome yet only 15 minutes from the Vatican, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon.
The Hotel has friendly staff with the standard of accommodation provided being very good.

The only slight disappointment was the very small size of the shower. It was tiny, but worked fine.

This hotel is so well located in center of Rpme, that we have been able to visit all the sites we planned to visit, BY WALKING. The furthest one, was the Coliseum at 30 minutes of walking. We really appreciated this advantage.

We were familiar with the comments of other travellers on TripAdvisor.com, so our expectations were consistent with what we were provided.
The rooms are truly spartan-like. The beds are in need of upgrading; a steel frame and spring mesh supporting a thin 'mattress' are not the quality of Three-Star properties in today's markets. The room was very well maintained.
Noise from the corridor is amplified by the generous space beneath the door, the hard tile floor and the hollow core door itself. Solid doors of more substantial mass and acoustically gasketed for sound isolation are available and have come to be expected.
I have to assume that as wireless internet technology becomes more common, charges for use of the internet from a house computer will become obsolete.
The furniture in the common room should be replaced and not just covered to conceal the sad state of the upholstery. Lighting could similarly be improved.

We took pictures of our room to set expectations instead of words however. Significant differences exist between hotel rooms in Rome and in the United States. A customer in Rome receives less and pays more than in the U.S. The website should prepare consumers for this fact.
We will also stress the desirability of the hotel's location, off the main roads, yet close to transportation and within walkable proximity to so much on both sides of the river.

Your staff was wonderful!
We enjoyed our stay, but had problems with the bathrooms. We stayed in 2 different rooms. The showers leaked in both rooms, the toilets spat water from the top well when flushed (Rm 304 was worse than 302).
The faucet also leaked in 304, where the spigot meets the sink.
Some of the pillows needed to be replaced.
We requested to use the internet approximately 5 times. Three of the five times your staff were using the computer and we had to come back later.

Nearby neighborhood groceries and pizzerias off the tourist path were very inexpensive. Try Pizza Rustica just down the street!

The front desk personnel was extremely friendly and helpful, beyond my expectations. They provided help finding a tour guide and directions to a concert in a very friendly and effective manner. The rooms are very small but I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and bathroom.
I would recommend adding some fresh fruit and cheeses to the continental breakfast. I would encourage the management to set aside a section of non-smoking rooms for those like me who are allergic to smoke.

Staff were very honest. I accidently left my purse in the breakfast room with over $1,000. in it. The purse was turned in at the front desk with nothing missing. Location is excellent, across the street from a small market, close to the bus and within walking distance from St. Peter's. Would definently stay there again.

The airport pick up by car was a very useful service although it wasn't in an 'limousine' but a comfortable large taxi which we kind of expected it would be. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was very good. The room decor was a little 'faded' and there were some problems with air conditioning leaking but these caused no real problems.

Reception very efficiently booked us taxis etc and we never had any worries about checking out. We were able to leave our bags in a side room altough not locked there was the feeling that there would be no security problems and there wasn't.

I perhaps would not describe the hotel as bright and modern, more charming and welcoming, with friendly staff. We choose it for the location near to the Vatican and it was good for that and there was a good Irish bar very close which was useful for my parents who had some walking difficulties. A good hotel to explore from.

through no fault of the hotel, only 2 people made the trip instead of three. i did enquire if it was possible to have a double room on arrival. quite correctly, we were told as romeby.com were the booking agents it was out of their hands. however on 3rd of 3 nights the spare bed was used by hotel for another room. no problem with that at all but no offer to reduce the bill even by a third just for that night only which would of characterised the rest of our stay.

We were very grateful when the person checking us out was extremely helpful in booking a train reservation for us. That small kindness made our trip much less stressful. Someone at the reception desk the night before charged us for internet access for less than two minutes, even when he saw the train reservation site was down and we could not accomplish our reservations. We give high marks to the efficient gentleman helping us in the morning. We went to the audience with the Pope secure in our ability to have a train reservation. We would have missed the experience otherwise. Thank you.

Regarding our late flight and arrival at the hotel the receptionist was very gentle. He also explains us the best route, because we had to make a exhibition of rome by night.
The breakfast and the service was very good in the hotel. We promised that we will come back in the future but not only for 1 night and we will again book this hotel because it
was very nice.
But we had many problems before regarding your booking system because we have no credit card and as a result of this there were many misunderstanding. Please try to change this booking system that also people without having a credit card can book may be with a EC-card.
Also might it be better to arrange a german site version in the system, then you get more feedback.

Because it has a very nice photo gallery which makes the decision for a special hotel much easier. Other booking service do not provide such a good visual impression of the hotels.

The only problem was the very expensive taxi driver (we paid three times more than stated in the internet, but this was caused by the taxi driver)

It is a nice city hotel. It is clean and the service people are very friendly. They all speak English very good but no German. The rooms are not so large but sufficient for a stay in the city where you go to the hotel only for sleeping as there is so much to see. This hotel is located very central. You can reach all sights in walking distance. We did not use any underground during our five days stay.

As it was our first time to Rome, we were
shocked to note that we need to ring the bell in order for someone to open the gate to enter the hotel. We have never experience this before so it was really new to us.

The main difference was that the web site said the rooms were recently renovated. I suspect that it was some time since this was done. However, the room was clean and the reception staff were very helpful.

The location is good and it is fine if you are going to be out all day. There were no useful facilities there in the evenings. There was an unpleasant smell, I think stale cigarette smoke, in the breakfast room when you first entered but I did not notice it after a few minutes.

Very comfortable rooms. Helpful friendly staff. The smallest shower we have ever seen - but adequate!
The biggest drawback was that we chose the hotel because it was quiet - it isn't. The rubbish is collected at 2am and there is virtually no soundproofing between rooms. We have written to the hotel but had no reply.

Did get a double room at the third floor, but it was NOT like the one in the pictures on the website.... The room was bad when you paid 145 euro a night, but the bathroom was ok.

Big differense between rooms at first floor and third floor. Third floor rooms should be a lot cheaper.

Make sure you get a room at the first floor!
