I would describe ths hotel as charming, good location, I had a deluxe double room and one night at a junior suite. I would recommend either room. The bath was nice, the jacuzzi tub is a plus and the breakfast is very nice.

Room was away from street, thus VERY quiet...good. The breakfast environment, staff and food were wonderful...would be a big part of my choice to stay there again. Bathroom was small, small, small! For one person, OK, but if my wife was along, would have been unacceptable. Everything was super-clean, especially the sheets. Convenient to subway, walking almost anywhere; a very nice location.

I suspect, but do not know, that there is a wide variety of choices for two people. Since I was one person using a two person room I had no problems, but if I were two persons, I would want to know what my choices were in some detail. Also, I had to walk up and down a few stairs to get to my room (in an adjacent building, I guess), and I had no advance warning of this. If handicapped, might be an unpleasant surprise.

The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly.

The room was a little smaller than expected, but was clean and comfortable. There is a sitting room off the lobby where the staff brought us ice (we're Americans) and glasses so we could sit and enjoy our own cocktails before going out to dinner.

The staff at the hotel were expecting us and they were very welcoming. As it turned out, we stayed in the penthouse for one night at the same price as our regular room, i thought this was really a nice thing for them to do!

My only comment about Hotel Alexandra is, it says in the description that there is a jacuzzi in the mini-suite room. We stayed in the mini-suite but alas, no jacuzzi!

One tiny comment. Our room was in the front of the hotel. Outside the road had a grid, everytime a car went over the grid it made a noise. Not a problem for me as I slept with the window closed. But for someone else maybe it would have been a bit noisy.

Elegant but affordable hotel in a perfect location for sightseeing in Rome. Within steps of the Metro at Piazza Barberni, near famous fountain 'Tritone' and many excellent restaurants, good shopping area. Lovely old sycamores line the street at the hotel providing welcome shade in summer. Breakfast served each morning offers many choices. Rooms beautifully appointed in simple and classic taste. An excellent 3-star hotel.

I was a little surprised that there was no other way to get our luggage up to the hotel without using the steps from the sidewalk. There was a bellman there, but it was still an inconvenience because he didn't get there right away and we had to some of our heavy bags ourselves.

As you know, Rome is not an easy city to enter by car. Once we figured out where we were. It was very easy to find.

We were promised a view of the city and that's what we got. We stayed in Suite 600 which had a magnificient view of the entire city. We were in a three room suite with a terrace. When we go back, I will definitely stay at the Alexander again.

we were picked up by friends so directions were never requested and the address and location are well known and therefore very convenient! also wonderful to have the metro so nearby.
the rooms are wonderfully quiet, not so spacious but efficient, and especially quiet on such a busy street. the bath was a little tight but relative to the price the whole stay was wonderfully affordable and we would definitely stay there again!

The porters, maids and the young gentlemen who worked in the breakfast room were all very polite and helpful. There was a young lady who worked on the front desk occasionally who was also very polite. My only complaint was one of the gentlemen (didn't get his name) who worked at the front desk. He never smiled and wasn't very friendly or helpful in my opinion. However, all the rest of the staff who worked at Hotel Alexandra were top notch and I would definitely stay at this hotel again and would highly recommend it.

Hotel Alexandra is in an excellent location on Via Veneto (which I consider to be one of the prettiest streets in Rome) within walking distance to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Borghese Gardens, shopping and dining. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and the rooms very tastefully decorated.

We did, however, request a room in the back of the hotel based on comments we read on this website. We were given a room on the front, directly over the entrance to the hotel. It's also located on Piazza Barberini, which is the location of a convenient internet cafe, for those who are interested in staying connected via the internet. It's convenient to all sightseeing, and easy access to great restaurants. The only downside was the noise at night.

We had a mini suite at the front of the hotel but the noise from the road and vehicles driving over a loose metal grid meant that we had little sleep. The air conditioning didn't seem to work so we had to have the windows open. The noise was that bad we asked to be moved. This was done and we were upgraded to a junior suite at no extra charge. The rest of our stay was most enjoyable.

Standard of breakfast was poor - fruit luice was appalling and served in 2nd rate plastic 'glasses'. The scrambled egg and bacon had been kept warm for ages and was barely warm. Service in breakfast room was pretty poor.

The website is, I think, quite deceptive as the room we checked into looked a lot smaller than any of those pictured and it was a 'deluxe'. I can't imagine the size of the regular rooms.

The hotel itself is fairly reasonable as regards comfort etc. The area is absolutely lovely, it is close to the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain & there are a number of nice cafes & restaurants right on the doorstep. The staff I found to be reasonably polite, I would say that they weren't overly helpful or friendly but reasonable enough. I don't know if I would stay there again as the room was small & dark & expensive & the staff just couldn't seem to muster up the energy to go that extra mile to make you feel welcome.

Our room was lovely however it was located in the front of the building and it was extremly noisy at night so we asked to change rooms. They were accomodating but the second room was not as nice and the bathroom was very small.
Friends traveling with us had the same experience plus their room was very hot as well as noisy. When they went to the front desk to ask about the air conditioning they were told to open the window. That was less than helpful. They also managed to get a new room at additional charges.

With only one computer to check out multiple guests it was very slow. We needed a taxi to get to the airport and one was not called for about 45 minutes and it took 30 minutes to get to the hotel. That made us anxious.
