We arrived early (before noon) and the hotel personnel were very accommodating, showing us two possible rooms that were immediately available.

Rooms in Bed and Breakfast hotels tend to be small. The web site said the Athena Hotel rooms are spacious for this type of hotel. We agree. The large bathroom with shelf space was particularly appreciated.

The telephone bill was somewhat larger than expected, but that is not the hotel's fault. We made several calls to cell phones, and did not realize that those calls are much more expensive than calls to regular phones. My only suggestion would be some type of notice to guests about charges for different types of calls.

A very pleasant experience overall. Conveniently located to Paddington Station. Spacious rooms for this type of hotel, especially the bath rooms. Friendly staff. The fact that the hotel had a lift was a big plus. Good breakfast, but I did miss the broiled tomatoes.

We arrived early & they let us leave our baggage until checkin.

Room could use minor repairs: window didn't completely shut, pillows flat. Especially the bathroom needed upkeep: the shower curtain was torn, the shower head leaked, no exhaust fan. However, these are minor complaints.

It has been a very pleasant experience. I was delightfully surprised with the accommodation. I got one of the rooms at the attic which was roomy, clean and quiet.

It was a smoking room, what I didn't know until I stepped in. It was very stinking, even in the wardrobe. I didn't like it at all. When I asked for a non-smoking room they said they don't have any.

The room was extra small, but I heard that's usual in London.
There was no place to put my clothes in - except the stinking wardrobe. I obviously didn't use it so my trolley was on the floor, I dressed from there.

You should clearly state that it is a smoking place.

Three days is forever there, if you are a non-smoker.
The staff is nice.
