We were made to feel very welcome by the staff at Lario Hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lario Hotel - the views of Lake Como were beautiful and we were able to visit by ferry, bus and walking many of the lakeside villages

I tried checking out at 9am and it took 35 minutes as the poor fellow had no idea how to do the check out. It was the only negative of the stay. Hotel was great.

We also stayed one night in the Grand Holtel Tremezzo. As far as we are concerned the room in the Lario was much nicer (especially the bathroom). This is without taking into account the rediculous amount of money the GHT charge. We will deffo come back to the Lario if we are in the area.

The following statements are noted as general comments and are not meant as major negatives.
I was unaware by the photo gallery, or the hotel description, that the main road was so close to the hotel. While the new windows were perfect for keeping out the road noise it was a bit too noisey to sit out on the balcony for any major length of time from motorcycles, general traffic, trucks and buses. Having never been to Lake Como before I had imagined a more peaceful lakeside experience.
This next item is simply the ugly American in me but Lake Como does not have a very active night life - nor did I expect it to. While the hotel offered satilaite TV - which was great - having only two channels in English and no translation text on the Italian channels left it hard to find out much about Italian contemporary culture.

A simple, well run hotel, moderately situated within walking distance to the ferries and town. It has most of the major conveniences of larger, more costly, hotels and is very clean. The staff was wonderful.

We enjoyed our stay at Lario hotel very much.
The room was gorgeous and the terrace was amazing with wonderful views to the lake and mountains around.
The staff was always very polite and helpful.

The breakfast was very good and diversified. We took a tour of north Italy and I think the breakfast at Lario was the best.

The hotel was easy to find (arriving by car)
and we were pleased about the easy garage

The staff all spoke excellent English which

tried many properties and none were free due
to a holiday weekend, so our expectations
were not so high, however we were most
pleasantly surprised with the standard of

This is a very pleasant hotel in a wonderful
area of Lake Como - perfectly positioned for
travelling to other towns - easy access on
foot to the boats as well as to a number of
good restaurants. The staff were helpful
and friendly. The lakeside views are a
great bonus.

The staff were exceptional in every way from the moment we arrived until our departure

Our only misgivings were regarding the proximity and usage of the very busy road directly in front of the hotel. Our room was sound proofed and he noise in no way detracted from our enjoyment, however more inactive or elderly guests may have rouble negotiating the road.

Although we didn't take advantage of it other guests reported that the hotel had given transport free of charge to help with sightseeing etc.

Proximity to main road. Made walking up to Tremezzo a life threatening experience ,although to be fair the staff did warn us and it was possible to request a lift at times.

A very good modern hotel with beautiful views of the Lake. Bedroom accommodation was simple but more than adequate with generous sized rooms and very clean.Small but very pleasant pool area. Staff were very friendly and helpful and I would definitely stay there again!

Exfellent welcome. Receptionist spoke first class English and was very helpful in providing local information.

We arrived late in the evening, 11.00pm, so we met the night porter who did not speak so good english. However, he was very polite and did his best to welcome us.

We liked Hotel Lario and had a good time there. What we were unhappy with was the following;
- the hotel was not so sound proofed as we thought
- the pool area was too small and only 6 sun beds.... Luckily we did not want to be near the pool every day.
- the breakfast was very unprofessional. We were there 15 minutes before serving time every morning but there were nothing left from bread, ham etc. And when you ask for it kindly they were not professional. And when you are in Italy you would like a lovely coffee, not from a nescafe machine.... This is very unusual.

Wew wer made very welcome.

The Hotel was extremely comfortable. However, mention should be made of the busy main road. In the evenings there was no entertainment at the hotel and one could not walk down the road in the dark as it was dangerous. Food was average. The staff were all excellent.
