I'm afraid that our opinion of the Grande Albergo is less than positive. The location and the decor of the hotel are fine, being right on the front of the promenade and close to the centre of the small town. In general the hotel was adequate but we found our room overlooking the gardens to be small for the price and for the four star rating.The pool on the top of the hotel was a wonderful place to relax with the salvataggio, Guglielmo, particularly friendly and helpful, (we had many animated discussions about the World Cup finals.) However, on his day off, when there was a replacement attendant there, a senior member of staff came up and closed the pool bar/cafe in the middle of the day without any explanation to any of the guests by the poolside; not very courteous or professional as people then had to go down and get cold drinks and snacks elsewhere. More importantly, in the second week of our stay a new guest arrived carrying her dog into the breakfast room, and then proceeded to handle the food on the displays. I asked the staff on reception after this whether they allowed animals into the restaurant and their reply was definitely not. When I told them of the dog in the retaurant and the hygiene aspects, the senior staff member was apologetic and said they would refer this to the restaurant manager. The next morning the same lady came in again with the dog and this time the restaurant staff even handled the dog and then the food. The person I reported this to on reception did not have the decency to respond to me after this and quite frankly I was pleased to leave this hotel by this time. However I must stress that the majority of the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.

Overpriced. All in all I cannot recommend this hotel, based on the 4 star rating I would expect a higher standard of room, restaurant hygiene and in certain cases, staff professionalism.

Check in was very courteous and friendly and only took a few minutes. The receptionists were most helpful, spoke several languages and made us most welcome.

We had booked a room for a wheelchair user, and whilst the bathroom was excellent, the room itself was too small for the wheelchair to manoeuvre. We explained this and we offered a superior room which was much larger and had a balcony. The bathroom was acceptable but obv iously not as well equipped as the disabled room. We were not charged for the upgrade.

The noise levels inside the building were too high.
I asked for another room and I was asked to choose one of four other. It was a very kind treatment in that special case!

i) Need of additonnal hangers and ii)some noise early in the morning due to the work done on the swimming pool and iii) in the bathroom, need for at least one additional tablet for personnal belongings and a kleenex tissue dispenser.

Restaurant: good food and service at reasonable price.
One elevator available and relatively slow(at the time of our stay)seems unsufficient due to the number of rooms of the hotel.

Very nice hotel well situated; pleasant stay with the beach directly in front of the hotel(especially in low season).

Although the room was very nice it was portreyed as a 'suite'. It only had one room and they just put an extra bed in the room for my son who was traveling with us. I guess I expected more. It was also on the first floor so it did not have a very good view.

Again, it was not a suite and for 270 euro it was overpriced.

difficulté à gérer un problème de parquage de ma voiture par manque de compétence de la personne à la réception. Parking de l'hôtel complet suite mariage le 9.7.05 . J'avais réservé l'hôtel en mai et je pense que l'on aurait pu me garder une place de parc après un voyage éprouvant!. On ne s'est occupé de cela que le lendemain en s'excusant de ne pouvoir me donner satisfaction. On m'a conseillé de parquer en zone payante en n'oubliant pas de me lever pour remettre de l'argent le dimanche matin, ou alors parquer en dehors de ville et revenir par la navette.
On a vu mieux pour un 4*. A part cela, notre séjour était agréable, le restaurant est de bonne qualité, les chambres plus ou moins bien préparées selon l'humeur du jour je pense!

explications concernant la situation de la plage et son utilisation. Un forfait avec la plage devrait être proposé.

Hôtel et son restaurant de qualité, moderne, situé au centre de la station, à proxomité immédiate de la plage, des rues piétonnes et commerçantes. Bon rapport qualité/prix.
