We enjoyed our stay at the continetal.
Our bedroom was rather dissapointing as it was the very end of the corridor and on the lower floorso we did not get the sea view we had expected,and there was no other room to change to

Very good hotel but if you want a swim it is not suitable if you are not too mobile as there are a lot of steps to negotiate, also it is very expensive to use the beds available.

i was in italy for 2 weeks with my husband, mother and mother-in-law. this was our favorite hotel! the staff was very warm and friendly, very professional. i would highly recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

the best hotel in santa margherita! we went to the Imperiale to have a drink and we didn't like it! they were snobby--Continental was perfect for us!

We were in the annex so the room was rather smaller than we would have expected from a 4* hotel.
However our stay was very enjoyable.

Lots of steep steps down to the sea for anyone who has a mobility problem.
Beautiful gardens.
Issue with lots of the sunbeds in prime positions being booked by non hotel residents for the whole season.
Problem with under catering in the restaurant unless you ate early and quickly some of the main courses and lots of the puddings were not available.
Not really what you would expect in a 4* hotel so we tended to eat out which was a shame as the setting of the restaurant is beautiful.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Some rooms bit small but great views over the bay.
If you intend to eat in the restaurant eat early!

Great place. Would come back in a heart beat. Already gave the name to friends traveling thru the Riviera. Very helpful people as well. The grounds are beautiful and it was our favorite stop on our entire vacation!!!

Internet usage in the lobby was a bit of a hassle as you had to buy internet cards. Then the desk personnel didn't have any cards to sell essentially making computer access unavailable for 12 hours.

We were both absolutely delighted with our stay, especially when we opened the veranda doors and saw the view, Galliano was very good as wine waiter as well, tried very hard to understand us and make conversation, lovely chap. Would definitely recommend the stay.

A great romantic hideaway with fantastic views, we were not imposed upon at all by staff unless we asked for help.

All was well. I think a little more modernization to the decor would be helpful and I think that the reception could have told me all the amenities to the hotel.

Decor was old - seemed like maintained but not up to par of 4 star. I was woken up by the maid staff who was very loud. The room was bare and very unwelcoming. I would help it out by using nicer paint to brighten up the very dark rooms. Add somethings to the walls also. Felt not either like a nice hotel or a home. The shutters made it feel very dark. I don't think it was worth the price. You need a pool also.

Like Grandma's place without a pool, great view from outside. Dark on the other side without a view and shutters. Rooms are bland.

Reception is excellent and they act very
quickly and very kind. Especially, the
parking controller is excellent.

The room was clean and quiet and nice sea view. The garden was also every morning cleaned and the flowers were so lovely.
Only this hotel has the direct access to the
beach(sea), better than The Hotel Imperiale.
I recommend this hotel to everybody who would like to go to this area.

Maybe, one thing can be said. The restaurant
should have various menus(not fixed ones with several choices) in the evening for
normal guests.

Concierge was extremely helpful with directions, restaurant reservations, golf bookings, time table print-outs for the appropriate times for the train and ferry services we required for our day trip to the Cinque Terre, etc. We found them to be very professional and efficient.

A very comfortable Hotel with lovely gardens leading down to the sea. Gorgeous views of the sea and coastline from our bedroom, and from the terrace(where drinks, and breakfast were served), and from the peaceful garden. Position was fabulous - just a short stroll down to the main town and harbour which was alive and bustling! but after which it was wonderful to retire back to our quiet bedroom-Request top floor in the main building.

The car valet was there to meet us and was so welcoming. A nice start to our stay.

I just noted one thing... The carpet looked a bit soiled/old.
Other than that the hotel was excellent.
The older fellow at the valet was so wonderful.
Service was a bit slow during the beach side dinner on Saturday evening. As English speaking guests we felt a bit forgotten about. Others seemed to receive their meals ahead of us even though we arrived to the restaurant first. We also had three hungry kids with us. The staff was very polite and apologetic though.

The only problem was that the rooms did not have the appropriate noise insulation.
Those facing the road were the worst.

Some comments I have about the hotel Continental is that internet access was available but they had only one computer. Furthermore the computer was situated beside the reception and everybody passing through could see what you write in an email. I believe that a space where they can feet 2 -3 computrers is available and that will be beneficial for those staying in the hotel (You will not have to wait 1 hour or more to check your emails).

Great location and beautiful view. A bit expensive for what you receive. Need better internet access - system did not work all the time. Also most other hotels in Italy provide free internet access in the business center - this one does not.
