We arrived in France during the train strikes, so our arrival time was delayed. There were also no taxis at the Amboise station when we finally arrived. I called the Le Choiseul reception to notify them of our expected delay--the receptionist reassured me that our rooms were guaranteed, and they would be there when we arrived; they even called a taxi to pick us up. The receptionist even carried our bags to the rooms--he even showed us the rooms to ask if they met our approval!

The accommodations were spectacular. There was just one employee who was disappointing; the young lady who served our drinks at the bar the night of our arrival acted as if we had interrupted her day. She was rude. The restaurant was an amazing experience; we had the 7 course meal with accompaning wines. The food was a taste sensation. The dishes were artistically displayed, and the portions were satisfying. This will be the most memorable holiday our family has experienced. The front desk staff also helped book an all day van tour visiting neighboring chateaus; the tour was great!

We were offered our booking at less than the listed website price, I believe, due to the time of year (off-season). The price was WELL worth the experience!

There was no elevator (lift).
More publicity about the rating of the restaurant. I read on other websites that the restaurant was 'overpriced' for 'small portions.' Maybe if there is more explanation of what kind of food/preparation is served in the restaurant, there won't be this perception.
The other problem I found on other websites was that visitors felt pressured to make a reservation for dinner at Le Choiseul by the front desk staff. Maybe if there was more explanation that the chef needed to know in advance how much to prepare for the evening meal.
