The first room we got had a strong and bad smell coming from the bathromm. We spoke to the manager and we moved to a bigger room wich was much better but the smell was still there. Anyway, the hotel is very nice.

Pleasant, quiet, comfortable, in a beautiful location. Good staff, free internet service and parking. Outstanding!

Very nice and helpful staff-one of my party
lost her glasses in the taxi from the
station and the hotel was very kind in helpi
ng her recover them.

You feel kind of ' at home' in this hotel.

Very nice hotel. Only one minor point: restaurant wasn't open on the evening of December 29th but not a real problem.

Very good value for money between Christmas & New Year; friendly staff and great location just outside one of the gates leading into Florence. About 20 minute easy walk to Ponte Vecchio.

Our first night was not registered and therefore our party of 4 adults had to share 1 room with 1 bed!!!
Not happy about this at all.

This was our second stay at Carlotta and it was just as we remembered it from our previous trip!

Hotel Villa Carlotta is clean, quiet and comfortable; a 20 minute walk to the Ponte de Vecchio to enter the city.

WE were very disappointed when we arrived ,to be informed that the restaurant would not be available as it was out of season. If we had known this when we booked we would have chosen another hotel with full facilities. As we were only staying for a short break it was an inconvenience that we could have done without.

Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It was nice that they were all multi-lingual so we didnt have any problems from that perspective. Directions to the hotel were a bit confusing and we became a little lost but the fact that it was dark and raining certainly played its role in that.

I think the star ratings are somewhat ambiguous for overseas travellers. What rates as 4 star in Europe would only rate 3 or possibly 2 star in Australia or America. We were disappointed that the bed was two single beds pushed together rather than a full double or queen sized bed. But the room was clean and tidy and suited our needs and I have no real complaints. The photos shown on the web site seem to be of the hotel's 'best' rooms rather than a normal double room.

As a restored villa that is reasonably close to the sights of Florence, with very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms I would rate as only three star and the shower is not very good but all other facilities are excellent. Having two single beds pushed together to make a double is irritating, especially as they were made up separately. There is free internet access which is a great touch and a good lounge to watch TV if you want after a hard days sightseeing. It is in a very quiet and pituresque part of Florence with some very good restaurants nearby, and the staff are happy to direct you to places to eat and drink. The restaurant was quite good and service wonderful. I would say that it was excellent value for money and we were thrilled with our special 'Stay 4, pay for 3' offer - it saved us a lot of money.
