Normally I don’t have the time to answer such queries you has sent Mrs. Strand and me, but for the Hotel Della Signoria, I’ll make an exception.
We were ever so pleased with the accommodations at the hotel. The staff was always helpful and chearful, and the service superb. (I had forgotten a jacket in the hotel with my passport, drivers license and other documents. The hotel staff was very efficient in getting a parcel with the forgotten items to me.)
Since we had only two days in Florence, the location of the hotel made it possible for us to see more sights than we would have if we had been in another hotel.
By staying at the Hotel Della Signoria, we were able to experience in a short time much of the Italian culture in museums and other places just a few steps from the hotel.

I was traveling with my elderly parents who really do not walk very well. Hotel Della Signoria was ideally located to the area attractions. We were steps away from the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi. During the evenings our rooms were quiet and quite spacious. Finally, the staff was always helpful and courteous. We will definitely be returning to Della Signoria on our next trip to Florence.

It was a nice place in a better location, only the breakfast was poor, very poor. The room was good, only good, not very good in according with the price.

The room was a good size but in poor condition and dirty - the air conditionong did not work. The old twin bed mattresses had thick cninkly waterproof plastic covers underneath the sheets which were actually noisy. The bathroom was a good size but had the narrowest bath tub I have ever come across, no shower curtain and a shower head holder around a metre off the ground. The water was cold (we complained three times but nothing was done), so a proper bath was not an option and taking a cold shower required considerable ingenuity. The dust did not move from the television table for the whole 4 days of our stay. The breakfast was minimal - a half wine glass of diluted orange squash, a small pot of coffee or tea, one croissant (grudingly warmed)and a few pieces of toast plus two pats of butter and assorted jams - everything else - extra.

I have stayed in many hotels around the world and this was one of the worst.
At 200 Euro a night extortionate.
The hotel we stayed in subsequently in Pisa was excellent - and only 100 Euro.

Actually, there was a misunderstanding. I
had requested 1 room for 3--they had
reserved 3 rooms for 1. Fortunately, they
had a room available for us and it was the
nicest room we had during our entire stay in
Italy!! We were extremely happy with this
hotel. Thank you very much!

The Hotel was everything I expected. I believe that the Hotel could be marketed as being nearer to the Ponte Vecchio and all the major tourist sites. The Hotel is very comfortable. The staff were extremely polite and courteous at all times. Unfortunately, I did not understand the workings of the air-conditioning system and had to sleep with the windows open. This encouraged flying insects to come into the room which became very unpleasant. A larger chest of drawers would have been appreciated. I will recommend this Hotel to friends as definitely one to visit. Thank you for the opportunity of stating my opinions.

You don't promote how near you are to Ponte Vecchio Bridge nor the friendliness of the staff. How easy it is easy to book tours. The reception staff are eager to give help and directions

Intimate and very friendly. Quiet and hospitable. Central but slightly off the main thoroughfare. Clean, comfortable. A joy to return to after a long day walking around the beauty of Florence.

The staff at Hotel della Signoria was wonderful! Knowledgeable and welcoming, they did a great job of spoiling us during our 5-night stay. They were especially kind to my children and to my elderly father, so we felt very welcomed as a family. We will recommend it to friends con molto piaccere!

You should stress that the staff is very welcoming, speaks good English, and friendly. Also the location is superb for visitors interested in art and architecture, as well as shopping.

Fabrizio at the front desk was very welcoming, charming and helpful when I checked in.I had a bike and several bags and he had someone immediately take them for up for me,

The front desk person on in the early evening 6- 8 pm was not friendly at all. He never smiled and when I asked for a cab to the airport he did not offer to call. I waited until I returned later to get a cab and a different person was at the front desk, Gianfranco and he was wonderful and ordered a cab for the next morning.

Gianfranco at the front desk was very helpful in getting me a taxi, helping with my bags and bicycle and offering me cafe' all at 5 am. He should be complimented.

Everything went very well. The room was ready and clean. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. Everyone we had contact with in the hotel were exceptionally nice and friendly, especially the help in the breakfast area.

The room is small but adequate. You'll have to get used to the small bath and the shower. You will need to bring along your own evening entertainment if you do not understand Italian as you only get CNN on the television in English. But there is so much to see and do close by that you will spend little time in your room.
