Very private, I simply left the keys on the morning I left. I did not require anything more obtrusive than that and appreciated it.

The location is on the other side of the Arno River, but you can walk to all central sites within a short amount of time (20-25 min). And, the bus stop is just across the street and run so regularly that you can bus it to city centre within 5 minutes and then walk to museums etc. The location is safe for a female traveller and quiet; a nice residential area away from town core.
