Directions to find the hotel did not mention that it was located in an area closed to car traffic, but that even then it would be possible to reach it telling the policemen that you were going to check-in (and drop luggage) in an hotel there located.

Parking in central Firenze is difficult and expensive. The hotel has an agreement with a parking operator (25 euros per day, for a compact car) who picks up and returns your car at the hotel (once each for the whole stay; extra pick-ups and returns charged separately).

Clean, quiet and spacious room, friendly staff (though not all of them spoke English). The location is great...anywhere in Florence is within five minutes' walking distance from the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

Great place, comfortable room, ideal location. Only negative was the bathroom/shower. When you showered the whole bathroom got wet.

I am more used to American hotels where the hotel is the entire building. When the taxi driver dropped us off, I was initially confused as to exactly where the hotel was (even though I could see the sign) we met another American couple who pointed out that we needed to take the lift to the 4th floor. I think you should point that out in your directions.

Other than how to get into the building. Americans, in particular, are not used to hotels with a lobby and front desk on the 4th floor.

The Olimpia Hotel has a good location in the centre of the city, within walking distance from most interesting premises. The (missing) shower curtain (wall) seems to be the problem in Italian hotels. The double bed was comfortable and the breakfast was decent.

I wish the shower did not share the same floor with the bathroom, separated only by a curtain. It also took several minutes for the water in the shower to warm up and the water pressure was low.
You should definitely post a clear sign at the entrance to the building that the reception desk is on the 4th floor. All I saw on arrival was the list of names of doctors who have offices on lower floors. I didn't know whether it was the right entrance until another guest of the hotel who happened to pass by told me where to go.

The overal stay at the Olympia was good. The location is wonderful. The rooms are a bit drab and the bathroom shower was dreadful. A trickle of water and very cramped bathroom space. The rooms could use a bit of a makeover.....
