We took a taxi from the rail station.The journey was very short and took us through many very narrow quaint streets.It was a nice surprise to discover the Hotel in one of these streets.

The Hotel looks like it has been renovated recently.Everything was lovely and clean and good quality.The room (triple share) was large with high ceiling and split level with a queen bed downstairs and single bed upstairs. All facilities were excellent.

Located in the best area of Florence. Within easy walking distance to Duormo, Uffuzi Gallery,lots of eating places and Rail station.

We were given a choice of rooms, which was very helpful. We were also given a map and some useful tourist advice.

My only criticism of the hotel's service was the breakfast. A self-service setup with 2 vending machines for drinks, which were efficent, but the biscuits and cakes were not very appetising after a few days. I understand that buying fresh bread takes time but it would have enhanced our enjoyment greatly. Yoghurt was a good addition but some fresh fruit would have been even better.
We would have liked to have access to the roof terrace but there was some work being done so this facility wasn't available.
Even with sound proofing throughout the hotel we could hear building work and some noisy residents but it didn't happen when we wanted to sleep so there was no problem.

Check out was very early in the morning but the staff gave us instructions on leaving so we were in no doubt as to what to do with keys, etc.

Hotel Collodi was well placed in Florence for everything we wanted to see and had a great array of good restaurants close at hand. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. In a quiet neighbourhood and only a short walk from the train station makes this a good choice for Florence. I would recommend it to friends as it is everything you need for a city break.

Compared to other hotels I have stayed in it seemed more like a 3 star (but would need a better breakfast to earn 3 stars).

All was as it was represented on the website and exceeded our expectations.

The staff was very cheerful, helpful and made us feel welcome. They hotel was charming, the room quiet and comfortable. I loved the beamed celings and the newly done bathroom. This room was our favourite of all for this tour through Italy!

It was all stated on the website. The fact that there was a short flight of stairs was even represented. We did not mind, and there is a lift for the fist floor.

I wold decribe it as clean, well run, with a bit of Italian charm. However, breakfast is a bit disappointing and the one thing I would be critical about.

would definitely recommend this hotel to friends. Very helpful over arranging secure parking of our car during our stay as well as giving us helpful local information of places to visit etc. Peaceful location, friendly staff, clean rooms, reasonably priced hotel.

The Receptionist was most welcoming and very helpful in providing us with local information and directions.
