This hotel has en excellent location! It was so easy to reach it from the railway station. The receptionist was very nice, polite and helpful to us.

This is a value for money Hotel in central florence which has easy access and is in a very central location. On the whole it is clean and and the staff was very polite to us.I would surly return.

It was late, dark and we were tired. We were met by a very friendly, very helpful receptionist who made us feel very welcome and set the tone for a very enjoyable stay.

If you don't set your sights too high and you only have a limited budget Hotel Guelfa provides a central & friendly location from which to explore both Florence & Tuscany (we visited both Pisa & Siena by train, in part because the hotel is conveniently situated for Firenze SMN).

We paid via credit card 24 hours prior to our departure. The hotel kindly looked after our baggage on the day of departure as our train did not depart until 13.27, this allowed us to spend another few hours enjoying Florence, including having a meal.

The biggest problem while our stay was to find a place to park the car. there is no description in your website where´s able to get parked. also for a visitor of firenze is not sightable what the diffrent colored parking places (white, blue, yellow) are for.

hotel guelfa is a small lovely hotel beside downtown and a few minutes by walk to the exhibition center 'fortezza de basso'.
Somtimes there is no warm water or at worst no water, but this seems to be a generous problem around the hotels in firenze. (As known from guests of other hotels)

Hotel Guelfa was a great place to stay. The room was very nice and the staff was extremely kind and helpful in every way. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend it to any of our friends travelling to Florence.

The staff was very helpful - called a taxi for us and then carried down all of our bags and waited until the taxi arrived.

Clean, small room, comfortable beds and pillows, spacious bathrooms, our room had remants of a fresco on the ceiling which was nice. Second room did not. Alot of street noise.Great tower with roof terrace and wonderful views of the city. Top floor also had a wonderful living room where we shared a bottle of wine before dinner (it was raining so we could not enjoy our wine on the roof terrace). Breakfast was minimal but fine.

As is common in Italy, breakfast at the hotel was very basic - pre-wrapped croissant and toast & orange juice + coffee.
Although we expected it from other trips to Italy, this could be a shock to someone expecting something more from their breakfast.
This could perhaps be explained on your web-site.

The property requires considerable upgrading. Rooms were not as clean as they could have been. There were holes in the wall and needed a good paint job. There were broken fixtures in the bathroom.

Not compared to the 2 star we stayed in Rome. It's night and day. Our 2 star stay in Rome was amazing and cost the same as Guelfa.

Bathroom drain was clogged.
As a result, the bathroom area was wet and flooded all the time.
No shelf in the bathroom where one can place toilet articles.

We had a room very close to the reception and it was extremely noisy and we were regularly woken by the comings and goings of the hotel.

Staff were very helpful in arranging a taxi for 5am as we had an early departure flight.

We've never been to Europe before and we had no idea what to expect. After settling in we found we were quite comfortable. Hotel Guelfa is a one star hotel so we knew it would not be 'grand'. At the same time we visited friends in who were staying in a two star hotel and we thought our hotel was more comfortable.
It seems these hotels don't know vanity countertops (or even a glass shelf 45cm above the bathroom sink), and drawers, for storage of clothes that we do not hang up, would do wonders for guest comfort.

Paid the bill the night before departure when an English speaker was available. I would say reasonable value for money but difficult to gauge in the absence of comparison with other hotels in Florence at that cost.

Our room was not ready on arrival, but another room was available. It was large but on the street and therefore a little noisy at night. The hotel was fully booked and we could not change rooms. The staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times.

the hotel is in a very convenient location. the staff are friendly. request a room that is off the main street which is quieter and looks on the pretty back garden. they make the best coffee at breakfast.

Worse than on the website does not at all mean that the Hotel was bad - but the images on the website gave the hotel off as being more luxurious than it actualy was.

Good location close to center of city. Staff very friendly and helpful.
A lot of noise from the street at night and early morning - try to get a room not facing the street.
