The only criticism I might have is that we were charged for 1 day that we did not stay yhere. We were late by one day because of flight delys in the US due to the weather. I understand that the hotel held our room for us but I notified them that we would not make it because of weather related delays. It just hurt to pay for sommething that we did not receive and was out of our control.

The streets of Florence are a little confusing when you first get to town, but we were able to find the hotel after only one wrong turn.

We really loved Hotel Globus and the staff. Everyone was very helpful regarding restaurant recomendations and in helping us get reservations at the musuems in Florence. We had a great stay in Florence largely because of the hotel and its staff.

Hotel Globus is a small boutique hotel in the heart of Florence. We were only steps from the market and Medici Chapel. In fact, we had a great view of the Medici Chapel out our hotel window. The staff was so friendly and helpful and there was even a computer with internet access for us to use in the lobby.

We were aghast to see that the Reception was up a flight of stairs as we had 4 huge suitcases but before we could blink, the reception staff had come down and helped us. Check in was very fast and we were out and sightseeing within 15 minutes of arrival!

We checked out at 6 am and Nikolai, the reception staff on duty was very helpful and efficient. He even made coffee for us himself and insisted that we have it before we left. He was also extremely helpful when my wife fell ill and tried very hard to get a doctor and finally got an ambulance to take her to the hospital! We have never been taken care of so well in a hotel as in Globus, anywhere in the world and Nikolai was exceptional. The Hotel is very lucky to have him.

A good hotel idealy positioned close to the station & old town. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We stay in Florence fairly regularly and would rate this hotel as one of the best in its class. One minor downside the breakfast area is very small and on occasion you may have to wait for a table.

My stay at the Hotel Globus was the best accomodation experience I had during my trip to Italy. The staff were exceptionally polite and professional, and I was very pleased with service and facilities. Within two weeks I travelled from Venice to Rome and stayed in four hotels in total. Out of these four, Hotel Globus would be the only one where I would stay again if I returned to Italy and Florence. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends despite the fact that there was excessive noise coming from the street all night long.

The only downfall about Hotel Globus is that breakfast could have been better and that there were no irons available at all in the hotel. We were very suprised about this, and it did really let Hotel Globus down

The hotel staff were WONDERFUL! I was disappointed that my mother and I had separate rooms when we had booked one room with 2 beds. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was very good. They had the best coffee in Florence! I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends traveling to Italy.

Reception being on the first floor without a lift was a major problem, making this hotel less suitable for travelers with heavey luggage

The bed was hard. This seems to be common in Europe for some reason, but needs to change!! The aging tourist population will not tollerate this.

The staff are all polite and good in English.
But the room is a bit dark, there is only one small side window. Also, there is some noise from bathroom which sounds like 'dropping of water'.

We actually arrived a day early and the hotel easily accomodated us and although we had to switch rooms the next day, they took care of moving everything. They were very accomodating. Also, hotel was so close to train station which made traveling to and fro with luggage very easy.

We love visiting Florence - I have been so many times now that it feels like my second home. THe hotel was fantastic and the staff were very helpful and polite in whatever way they could be. Lovely hotel. Had to climb steep stairs to get to reception - but reception staff very helpful in helping with heavy bags. However, on a corner, a very short distance from the hotel,there was a 'phone centre' - public telephones and a lot of youths and undesirables hung out there in the evening and early night. Didn't feel comfortable walking past them, although no trouble. Also same about market close by - pickpockets! As we arrived, a man had just been pickpocketed and the assailant ran past us, with the wallet in his hand!

The room was a bit noisy, as it seemed to be close to a bar. However, the staff was extremely helpful and made our stay very special. They made museum and restaurant reservations for us, as well as offering snacks and friendly conversation. The staff really made our stay!

Our flight from the US had been delayed so we arrived at the Hotel Globus about 5 hours later than expected. When we arrived, the Manager gave us a big smile and said 'We have been waiting for you! We are so glad you made it safely.' I felt like I was at a friend's house instead of a hotel.

My only complaint was the size of our room. It was so small you could barely get around the bed. Having said that, the bed itself was very comfortable. The pillows were great too. Our view was wonderful. The decor of the room was wonderful. The bathroom was great, clean, with all amenities. The shower was a tad small so it was hard to turn around in. Overall, I would stay here every time I come to Florence which I hope will be a lot.

The staff was wonderful. They suggested good places to eat, calling the restaurants on our behalf to make reservations. This is very nice for a small hotel that does not have a concierge, per se.

This hotel is perfect if you want a small and intimate setting with all modern amenities. The location is great too. It is close to all attractions yet not so smack in the middle that you are bothered by crowds and noise.

It was clean nicely decorated but not large but sufficient. Main thing, even though it was very central not far from the train station it was quite and peacefull. We would be very happy to stay there again. The only comment I have is your labtop is hard to use.Breakfast area was neat.

The lift was kind of Manual, you have to press a button to move the lift which is very, very strange.
The breakfast was not even continental, very poor, just cold dishes, not even boiled eggs.
The rooms were not very spacious.
On the other hand, I think that they should emphasize the possibility of using internet connection for free from the room, even thought that some sites (using cookies), like hotmail or yahoo mail, were not able to be opened via the browser.

As well, the location allowed for easy travel from the train station, and to many of the key attractions in Florence. Overall, a fantastic stay!

Reception is on first floor and the elevator doesn't go the ground floor, so you have to carry cases up 2 flights of stairs (the receptionist does help).

Problems with the air con. were resolved fairly quickly. Breakfast was delicious and there was a man behind the breakfast bar to make cappuccino etc as required.

Spacious, well presented and clean, good beds, good service, great breakfast, close to station but also only 10-15 minutes walk to Duomo and river. Open top tour bus leaves from station. Good value for money. We'd stay there again.

You should probably mention that the showers in the bathroom are small bathroom European style (curtain only, no real shower). I wasn't particularly surprised but some people staying there were.

Whilst Hotel Globus was a nice, clean & modern hotel, I was slightly disappointed with my room. Though it was adequate, I had booked a 'superior' room and thought that this room (201) should have been classified as 'standard'.

WE were given a handicapp superior room. Frankly, the shower was a real problem because it was in the middle of the bathroom and it would not close properly. The doors were wobbly and the water would get all over the bathroom. I also did not like that the room had a tile floor. It's the only hotel I ever stay at that had a tile floor. It was unpleasant.
