Rosy was a wonderful person, who took the time to show us on a map all the local must see sights, fuided us to a local eatery, which also was wonderful, talked about bus routes, etc, etc...just great !

The help in the restaurant, particularly Carmela was friendly, and engaging, even if we knew very little Italian, and she knew almost no English she was absolutely delightful!
...
The walk from Santa Maria Novello is more than a few meters..!
...
I would recommend this to anyone as a place to stay!

The reservations requested and quoted were for: 2 single rooms, 2 triple rooms and 1 quadruple.
When we got to the hotel I was given 1 room for 5 people, 2 triple and 1 single. This presented a problem and the next day we were given 3 triples, 1 double and 1 single.

Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful.

A nice and quiet hotel if you do not mind the walking to the city center.
Very convenient if you attend any of the Pitti Immagine exhibits.

My only comment is that the directions should inform that the hotel is on the 3rd floor of the building. There is a plaque on the outside of the door but when you are tired and jet lagged it took a few uncomfortable molments to figure out how to enter the building.

The hotel was set on a square that was less busy than most in Florence and therefore was safer and more quiet. The fact that the hotel is located on the 3rd and 4th floor of the building added to the feeling of safety and warmth. Especially as in our case (a mother and daughter traveling) this was important.

The atmosphere in the common areas was warm and pleasant. The breakfast room was charming and the barista was fantastic!!! Our room was very basic, but clean and comfortable. The bathroom made up for the modesty of the room itself. the bathroom was great! The location was safe and convenient. I would definitely return to this hotel.

The hotel Andrea is on the 3rd floor of a strange builing. There is building work going on next door. The square on which the hotel dits is a bit run down, but the hotel is central - i.e. near rail station and Duomo etc. All easily walkable.

For the money we paid we would have expected more 'luxury'. However it was a big room, very basically furnished and with a modern shower room.

It,s central position made it acceptable. 3rd floor position was a bit strange. On the whole, a good experience!

A good hotel, not luxurious, but with a modern shower room and friendly staff. There was a little balcony off the bar for drinks at night. That was lovely. Very quiet.

The hotel will undergo a complete verhaul this fall (2004). It needs it.

The oweners and the staff were charming and did their best. They were very concerned when I pointed out problems and they will work to remedy them.

I had missed my flight and so my room was given to someone else. however, the receptionist was very nice and found a room (sometimes 2 as there were 3 of us)for us each night. she made every effort to find us a room and we even stayed an extra night! my friends found it a hassle to move rooms after 2 nights but hey at least we had a room to stay in.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 years ago and loved it. The only thing that was not avail. that was avail 3 years ago was free internet access. This was one of the reason why I decided to come back. ( i even saw the computer in one of the sites) My stay this year was still very enjoyable and will continue to stay at this hotel in future. the location was great across the park and on weekends there was even a flea market too! I've always loved florence and this hotel was great. We all loved the breakfast served and the hostess always asked us each morning if we wanted coffee and what type of coffee.

Because we stayed an extra night in florence (we missed a train), our hotel reservation in rome might be given to someone else. so the receptionist called the hotel before we checked out to make sure we will have a place to stay upon arrival and explained the situation to the receptionist in rome. She was very helpful. ( we still had a room to stay in in rome.)

The room was not spacious at all however the view from the wondow was lovely. The room and toilet were clean. there was very little storage space for clothes.

The view over Florence is a real selling point.
The lack of space in the room and the fact that walls and floors are not sound proofed and the noise from other guests coming in and out and walking about their floors was bad to the point where I was wakened several times.

As above- would recommend with all the facts.

For the single room person the bathroom floor would be all wet after a shower. The hotel needed a tile lip between the shower and toliet/sink area to prevent the water from going into that area.
