We would definately like to have Internet-acces in the rooms. Here in 2007 it wouldn't cost much. ... In the middle of Barcelona, at the middle of the Rambla you'll find Hotel Ramblas. For us it's the Tornados' eye. Quiet in a retrorelaxed way with a professional staff which are both polite, kind and very helpfull. The rooms are clean and nice. Two helpful young men were in reception who were very pleasant and encouraged my son to speak Spanish by asking him easy questions. They were very friendly and welcoming.
... Our rooms were near the lift so we were disturbed by people coming and going. The rooms were adequate but not exceptional. The place (the hotel and the staff) seemed tired. ... It was quick and efficient. ... We were disappointed by our experience of having dinner in the hotel. The food could be better and the service could be much better. The waiter was young and inexperienced and did not appear to be interested in his job. The bar area could be much improved. ... Well placed as a base from where to explore Barcelona but only use it for bed and breakfast, do not eat there in the evening and find a friendlier and more comfortable bar.

When we arrived at the hotel we left our bags in storage and was asked to return at 2 pm to check in. When we returned, we were told that we had to go to another hotel due to the room being double booked. We find this very inconvenient as it meant us having to travel by taxi all the time to meet up with our friends who were staying on or around the las ramblas
